That is the assessment on the pat of the Obama administration regarding ISIS and the plane to import thousands of Syrian refugee's. The exact statement is, "the latest intelligence surrounding the attacks, and — while noting that there was no specific or credible threat to the United States — reviewed our homeland security posture to ensure we are doing everything necessary to protect the American people,"
No credible threat huh? Are going back to the parsing of words? The entire statement hinges on how one wants to define the word "credible." Kinda like "it all depends on what the definition of is, is."
Item. The FBI has 1000+ open investigations re. ISIS activity within the US. It occurs to me that some of them muct be "credible."
Item. Every time Homeland Security/NSA go before congress to petition for more money and ever more intrusive methods of spying on the American people they refer to hundreds of plots that have been foiled as justification for this increased funding and snooping capabilities. Wouldn't "foiled plots" have represented "credible" threats?
I think this might be a case of paying more attention to what the administrations hands are doing as opposed to watching their lips. The words from on high appear to be in direct conflict to their actions.
In the same presser we were assured that these Syrian refugee's would be thoroughly vetted. Just how is that to take place? It's not as if we have diplomatic relations with Syria and access to their internal database. And giving the NSA credit for actually having penetrated the Syrian internal records, just how robust and credible are those records to begin with? We have no assurance that those records even exist let alone any veracity.
Further, a reporter for the UK Daily Mail has already demonstrated that perfectly counterfeited Syrian passports are available allowing the procurer to assume any identity they want.
It is clear to me that this administration firmly believes that 'Humanitarianism' trumps the governments sworn task of insuring the security of the citizenry. The Constitution is quite clear in it's mandate for security, this is an unambiguous requirement laid out in the Preamble.
"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
Humanitarianism is optional and not even mentioned in the Constitution. There is nothing in the document discussing providing succor to foreign nationals that would do us harm.
