Nintendo sucks. Yea verily.

Nintendo makes more money on video games than both Microsoft and PS2 so don't count them out.

It's because of the lame-ass commericials for the game cube. I don't know if they showed them in America, but they were LAME. So annoying I changed the channel every time one came on.

Dragon Warrior? That was a damn good game. It started me off on my RPG addiction :D

Enix made the Dragon Warrior series. They merged with (read: they were bought out by) SquareSoft - makers of the Final Fantasy Series. It may very well be the end of the Dragon Warrior series as we know it. If it ever does come out again, expect it to be Final Fantasy-ied.

Nintendo is far from dead. So long as they hold the handheld market, all is well for them. The WonderSwan made a dent, but it's being canned in the end, so the GBA has clearly won it's battle. The new Nokia game unit might be a challenge, having better 3D capabilities, but earlier game prototypes had problems making good use from the compact 12+ button layout. I can't imagine it being a real button-mashing unit. Battery life is a concern too - it is a cell phone after all. The GBA-SP still get's 20 hours of play and is also rechargable, and backwards compatible.

We'll see. It'll be interesting. Besides, the release of FF Chronicles (or whatever) for the GC might prove interesting. If the PS3 doesn't tide Square over, FFXI doesn't take off online as Square is hoping (I don't think it will), then Square just might shift the FF series back to the Nintendo camp. That would be a HUGE swing.

The GameCube has definitely lacked any titles that seriously attracted me.

They need more Blood&Tits.

In a parallel universe it might be concievable.

But not this one. Chances are less than infinitesimal that Square will ever go back to formatting games for Nintendo systems due to a falling out the two companies had with each other in the mid-late 90's (long story). Real real short version is that Nintendo was being an ass about going to CD format in favor of cartridges, and Square didn't like it, so the took thier business to Sony.

Incidentally, I think that FFXI will... well, suck. Especially considering that (as far as I've heard) there will be no single player option.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicle Well, Square IS producing games for Nintendo systems once again. Not exactly FF per se, but close enough to whet one's mouth. FF: Crystal Chronicles for the GC and FF: Tactics for the GBA. FF: Tactics won't be the PS1 version we saw, there will be changes, but it will be in the same vein.

Maybe Square will get pissed at Nintendo again because of how they want things done (I was floored when I read that FFVII was going to the PS. Especially since Square had put out images of what FF6j/3 would have looked like on the N64). These might be the only games that come out. Who knows.

I get the impression something is afoot though.
