NFL Football Pool 2012

First off a big thank you to Sir_Winston54 for organizing and managing our football pool since it's inception a number of years ago. He has decided to retire and I have volunteered to manage the pool this year.

I invite all previous players and anyone new who would like to play to please join us. It is just for bragging rights but we have had lots of fun in previous years.

I fully admit to taking the easy way out and c&p'ing Sir_Winston's instructions from last year because I don't think I could word it as clearly :

" We'll be using PoolHost.com to manage our pick'em pool this year. It's easy to get in if you didn't (or did ) play last year. Click on the link above and login (if you played last year) or register (if you didn't) in the red options section at the upper left. Those who played last year, if you don't remember your password, PH has a "lost password" function that should get you back in. Once you've logged in or registered, click on the "Pro Football Pick 'Em" button and log in to pool "LitPool12" with the password BDSM. Then follow the directions for playing the pool."

The password is the same. I just changed the name to LitPool12. Same rules as last year. You have to have your picks in before kick-off of the first game of the week. Anyone not having their picks in on time will have their teams picked randomly by me.

The first game is this Wednesday Sept 5th at 8:30 pm EST.

For some reason, it seems I almost always do pretty well in Week 1. It's the rest of the season that bumfoozles me.


And I don't think that I did all that well in the casino's comp, especially since I last-minute changed my mind on Carolina @ Tampa Bay and picked against my Bucs. Dumbass.

And we all went .500 or better. That could get any of us a multi-million dollar job as DH on any AL team we wanted!

Should that person just lose out for the week? Random picks? Home team picks?

I work evenings and can't always wait until right before the first game to do random picks for someone else.

My vote would be unless someone pms me and asks me to do random picks for them well in advance of kick-off that person gets skipped that week.

Opinions?

You can do after-the-fact random picks for them. What I did last year was run a random and then confirm that the already-played game(s) had been picked for the losing team.

But if y'all want to go with a skip, that's fine with me, too. I'll probably blow it at least one week, lol.
