I think football is on the brain. Talking about Brad Johnson made me think of the other Johnson QB at Tampa - Rob Johnson.

Has there ever been a more ridiculous QB controversy in the NFL than the Doug Flutie/Rob Johnson fiasco. R. Johnson sucks balls. Doug Flutie was doing well for the Bills. That whole situation and the way it played out was absolutely ridiculous.

I never understood the whole anti-Flutie thing.

"He's too short, so he's benched."

"Starter's hurt, put Flutie in."

Flutie does well.

End of the season, Flutie sent packing to another team.

Repeat.

If the guy can play, the guy can play.

Yea, Stieve Young was a Fluity for Joe Montana for God knows how long.

I'm not dissing Joe. He was Magic for 49ers.

The Bills got what they deserved for treating Flutie like shit. The playoff game in which they suddenly changed to Johnson was a fucking joke.

Absolutely. I rooted against them for that very reason. Wasn't that the "Music City Miracle" game against the Titans?

Johnson is a mobile and has a nice arm.

He was the best backup in the league in Jacksonville before coming to Buffalo. The biggest thing is his age. He could have been the future in Buffalo Flutie couldn't.

Same thing in TB, if Johnson gets it together then the QB position is solidified in to the future....Johnson's best years are long behind him....

It indeed was. :D

That call by Titans play by play guy Mike Keith is still very fresh in my memory:

"... there are NO.. flags.. on.. the field!! It's a miracle!! It's a miracle!!"

Justice from the Oilers blown 44 point lead years ago had been served, and it came in the form of a Frank Wycheck lateral! :D
