Wow, what a SNF game we got to see as the Detroit Lions and Houston Texans put on a great 4 quarters. Detroit went from 7-23 at the end of the first half and came back in the second half to bring the game to the 3-point line, and the kicker hit a very close 58-yard field goal that almost scraped the right side of the goalpost to tie the game and give the Detroit Lions a win over the Texans with a 52-yard field goal that almost scraped the left side of the goalpost.

I don't really care much about either team but I kinda do feel bad for Detroit. That team never seems to do much, year after year they have been little more than an afterthought in the NFL until the last couple years. They are one of only a couple teams who have never even PLAYED IN a Super Bowl, much less won one, with their most recent NFL championship going clear back to 1950s, well before the Super Bowl era.
So yeah, I don't really root for the Lions but... I will root for them if they go all the way. (Because I'm kinda sick of the Chiefs anyway)

Detroit born and raised here. Expecting the worst and hoping for the best for our hometown heroes.
In the 70s hearing the adults complain, and not seeing the Lions because of tv blackout rules forced me to choose another team to root for or face disappointment. Fran Tarkenton turned me into a Viking fan. For the next 30+ years that proved to be the proper decision.
Every year the faithful Lion fans would get new paper bags.
Fast forward to 2023 I spent the entire season waiting for the same old Lions to show up and it happened in the fourth quarter of the NFC championship game. This season is shaping up the same way and while confidence is at all time high since 1954 still everyone deep down waits for SOL to show up.
One fact always remained constant and that is the lions are the most interesting team to watch.
