next time you hear one of these pop tarts say, "Crime is down," remember this headline.

The “Crime Is Down” headline has already been completely debunked for anyone willing to look a little deeper than reading just the headlines.
 
Much of minor acquisitive crime reporting such as shoplifting is driven by detections, most stores don't bother calling the police if low-value goods go missing unless they have someone arrested. The numbers are impossible to interpret if one company breaks ranks and starts reporting everything (probably to make some political point of their own). In the trade there's a thing called 'shrinkage', including shoplifting, staff theft, damage, undelivered goods etc.

Absolute crime figures only become reliable for serious crime (such as murders which nearly always get reported whether detected or not). Comparative statistics are OK provided all participating players have the same policies and stick to them.
 
Several reasons for inaccurate crime statistics, and factors contributing to falsely claimed lower crime for 2020 to the present:

1. Transition to NIBRS:
• The ongoing transition to the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) has led to challenges as agencies adapt to new reporting standards, resulting in incomplete data submissions and delays in accurate reporting.
2. Data Not Being Uploaded:
• Many cities and states have experienced delays and issues in uploading crime data to public databases and the FBI’s system, leading to underrepresentation of actual crime rates in official statistics.
3. State-Level Reporting Issues:
• Across various states, a significant percentage of law enforcement agencies have not consistently submitted crime data to the FBI, creating gaps and inconsistencies in statewide crime statistics.
4. Resource Constraints:
• Rural and smaller law enforcement agencies often face resource limitations, including funding and staffing shortages, which hinder their ability to report crime data accurately and consistently.
5. Changes in Reporting Standards:
• Changes in how crimes are defined or categorized, such as updates in definitions like those for rape, can lead to discrepancies in crime reporting across different jurisdictions and time periods.
6. Plea Bargains and Reclassifications:
• Plea bargains and reclassifications of crimes to lesser offenses can distort crime statistics by not accurately reflecting the severity and nature of criminal activities reported to law enforcement.
7. Political and Administrative Factors:
• Instances of political influence or administrative errors, such as data manipulation to portray favorable crime statistics, have been reported in some jurisdictions, affecting the accuracy and reliability of reported crime data.

Not in Chicago or anywhere else where Democrats govern. The DOJ and the FBI are both politically corrupt and are doctoring the statistics to make themselves look good. We have had 15 million violations of federal law alone at the southern border during the last three years. Look and see if it shows up in the FBI Crime Report.

Twenty six people (including twenty children) shot and killed at school in a single incident; that's easily resolved by sending thoughts and prayers.

Nineteen people killed in a major city across an entire weekend; WHY DON'T THE LIBS CARE?

The Democrat Party owns that savagery.
