Let's see if I can get this all in at one time :

There is no legend I have found that tells about the different things available here. Can someone help me out.

Under my name it says : Virgin.
I am assuming this is because I am new here ?
When and how does this change ?

I want a pic ( avatar ? ) like I see some people have.
How do I get one ? Do I have to have X amount of posts ?

Does the biography I filled out show up under my name on the side ? If not ... how do I get something there ?

That about covers my questions I think.
Please help me if you know the answers.

I want a pic (avatar?) Yeah that's the local name for them... like I see some people have. How do I get one? Do I have to have X amount of posts? Pretty sure that's 100 posts, maybe 150 don't remember for certain the precise number.

Does the biography I filled out show up under my name on the side? Certain fields do... If not ... how do I get something there? The standard gimmick would be to add to the "location" field, but people can click below your posts to see your whole profile if they're curious.


That about covers my questions I think. Please help me if you know the answers.

The "Virgin" status changes automatically at (I think) 30 posts.

Avatar option is available after 100 posts.

The only thing from your Bio that shows up there is location. I don't believe you can change anything there; except when you get to 1000 posts, you can change your title.

A lot of this stuff is covered in FAQ's if you have any other questions.

The complete information you put in your BB profile shows up in two places -- through the "profile" button at the bottom of each of your posts and on your site "members page" accessed through the search members link on the story index page.

If you follow the story index link at the bottom of the page, there are a couple of additional bits of info you can change via the login link at the top of the page.

well dont you feel bad..I had no idea what I was doing and wanted a neat pic too...and now I have over 120 posts...so I'm still not sure how I get one...somebody know about that??? thanks WILDROSE...

You access this via the link to your "control panel" (near the top of most pages.) From there you select "edit options" and scroll down to where the avatars can be changed.

The gotchas are two: total file size must be under 20kb, and both the horizontal and vertical dimensions must be less than or equal to 150 pixels - which most graphics programs will make clear as you work with them.

I suggest for your first av you pop over to the general board where people have been posting a bunch in response to lavendar's request for help picking/finding a new one. They are likely all within the above-mentioned size limits, so if you save a copy of one of those to your harddrive then pop into your control panel it should be a fairly straightforward exercise.
