Stealing a quote and posting it out of context
for discussion.

I'm new too, i reckon newbies get bullied in here :O

I 'borrowed' his post. :)

Do 'we' bully newbies?
Personally, I don't think we do.
There is no lit newbie initiation ceremony.
If a newbie posts there are often
replies of welcome.
Yet a few think we are meanies, bullies, unfair etc.
When I was a newbie I was very shy.
Eventually I posted and got to know
a few people. I had a very good
newbie experience.

I would be interested in hearing others stories
of when they were newbies here.
Particularly the newbies of old. LOL
When literotica was first 'born'.
:)

I don't do that unless they start acting like an asshole from the begininng. I remember my first post, I was kind of nervous what to say, how people would react. Luckily no one trashed me.

But I think some of our trolls get a kick out of putting someone else down.

i'm under the impression newbies that come here with that kind of attitude aren't newbies at all.

a good or bad first impression alway sets the tone and its a shame those that seek to harass are missing out on the good this place is..

That is so true in all of life.

If the first time someone opens their mouth i think 'what an idiot' then that's usually how i'll treat them

I was never 'bullied'. Well there was those few occasions when... ahhhh but that didn't count! That was just one of those posters that was a 'love to hate' sort of a soul that was always trying to bully most everyone... All that did was serve to make feel like 'one of the crowd'. :p Made feel kind of important actually...:D lol

I have found almost each and every poster here to be quite 'interesting', whether they are 'lovers' or 'fighters'. I don't tend to let much get under my skin. I just make a mental note of and carry on. ;)

It's grrrrrrrrrreat

I had, or should say I'm having, a great experience as a newbie. Everyone has been really nice to me, no one has trashed me. I was welcomed in all the threads I chose to post in.

There are times I wonder if I'm posting to myself, but I think it's just natural tendcy to skim over the replies of people you don't know to get to the ones you do.

People who say they have been bullied seem to think everyone should have dropped everything to greet them.

We all thought that at first. People take time to get to know you and then..............watch out!:)

I'm going to refrain from bashing the stupid newbie.

This was in reply to a post I made on Marxist's "Try something new" thread. Badasschick said she was something new, I said I'd like to try that (I considered it an innocuous attempt at flirting). And this was before Lasher's basketball team was beaten. Very nice welcome.

Hmmmm.... maybe that's why he's called 'Lasher'? ;) Oh and...

Welcome! I'm not 'new', but I'll let ya try me if ya want!:p

Uh huh. But why take the post so seriously?

In New Zealand we love giving each other
a hard time. :)

Humour goes a long way.
How did you know Lasher was
referring to you?
Why let it get to you?
Life is too short.
Laugh it off and move on.

OMFG!

Never have I gotten so much mileage from such an innocuous little post.

What's gonna happen when someone actually does say something mean to you?

You might wanna try the Playground. They'll treat you like a warm, fuzzy bunny there.

Maybe; seems like he's just a sour puss. Thanks for the welcoming invitation. *scribble, scribble* Tina's purple panties, hmmm.

Well, I didn't take it that seriously, it's only 'cause you started this thread that I dredged it up. Just that "only get one chance to make a first impression" thing. I like trading barbs, no harm there, but I usually reserve it for people I know already.

No shit, but it is so FUCKING BORING over there.

Sure we kinda slam each other around a bit here, but that's because there is some genuine passion and honesty on this board.

And of course there are a lot of dickweeds too.

Hey!! Just like real life.

Hi, pal.

I lurked around here for a long while before posting a lot in the last week or so. The board is like life (just teeming with more sex). There are the assholes but most people aren't like that. A stupid fucker is gonna be a stupid fucker to new people and to experienced people. You can't hold it against others when they don't instantly respond in deapth to your 2 cents. Once the 2 cents builds up to a buck and a quater then other people will be more apt to respond

Even after you passed the newbie stage, you can get bashed. All you have to do is say something stupid. Or have a satirical statement misunderstood as truth. So I still sometimes step back from posting.

Often newbies aren't really new....I was in and out of here for months before actually registering and posting....You get a feel for the place, for the people who one reason or another gather here....Somedays it's a pretty cool place, other days  ....

You gotta remember, have fun, ignore that which drives absofuckinglutely crazy.... I slip there sometimes lol....Give what you take from here....Some people in life are assholes, it's the same here at Lit....;)

The only "Bullying" I got was the VERY first day I was here the numerous female perverts were badgering me for pics. Some of the women here are SO bad.
I say that in the most loving way possible.:D

1) I agree with BK. I do tend to go overboard with the bashing at times, for instance last night with that wanna-be GI.

If someone starts out as an asshole, chances are they will always be an asshole.

2) Not until your second post boy. :D

3) This from a killa? ;)

Amen, brother.

It's usually easy to spot the ones who come in wanting bashing....

so giving them what they want is quite appropriate...

I am such a people pleaser
