Hello everyone! I am a new writer here and have just read the "comments" on my stories. I was so happy that for the most part the comments were all very positive. There were two negative comments that had me really dumbfounded.

The comments were on my story "Becoming an Anal Slave". The first person asks if I think it is so creepy why would I write about it in the first place? I am very confused by this because not once in the story is there any mention of anal sex "creeping me out". Quite the contrary, in fact, is the entire story. It almost seems as though the comment was meant for a different story.

The other negative comment talks about all us creepy "guys" (I am by the way female) are clueless because without a prostate gland, guys only wish women were into anal sex, blah, blah blah. While everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion, why would someone read a story that the title clearly says is about anal if they are so repulsed by it?

Ok, I know that given the fact that all the other comments were joyfully complimentary, I should ignore these comments. It just seems that they were so unhappy with the subject matter of the story, rather than the story itself. If you don't like a subject, why would you read stories about it?

Anyway, I guess I just needed to rant a bit. I am so thrilled to see people enjoying my stories. I can't wait to post more.

There will always be people out there who read in topics they hate and leave discouraging remarks. Don't know why it is, but it happens. Best you can do is laugh and move on.

We call them trolls. You haven't really become an author until you've been trolled. Even the best writers on this site get them. Then there are those people who find it so much fun to go into categories they find disturbing and bash the authors no matter how well written, interesting or hot the story is.

I've learned that you ignore the bad ones unless the criticism is constructive, rejoice over the good ones, and learn to laugh. Welcome to Lit.

As I said, I know that I should just ignore and move on. Of course, I just learned that I also am able to delete their comments. Didn't know that before. Have to admit, that was therapeutic. The old "you didn't like it? Well, HERE is what I have to say to you!" childishly clicking on the "delete". I guess if I thought the comments made any sense it would be different, but given the circumstances, I felt completely justified.

Ho hum. Still so thrilled about the people who DID enjoy my writing, that I don't much care.

Have a good one y'all.

Actually, I think the better you get, the more trolls you aquire.

Cool, I've been trolled so now I can refer to myself officially as an author! Yippee!

Leave the troll comments alone. In time you'll come to laugh at them and appreciate them. Then you'll contribute to the troll thread in AH. :)

I actually rejoice in the trolling now, in some ways... and I refuse to delete troll comments unless they are really nasty and threatening, not just "you suck" types.

My favorite are the ones from the people who don't read the actually story, they just want to comment on something someone else said about the story...

I've only deleted one comment. And it wasn't even directed at me but the person I acknowledged for helping with the story.

You can troll me, but leave my friends out of it.

I've left a series on my Loving Wives story that are all about Mel Gibson's nationality - has nothing at all to do with the story :D

I actually only deleted the one comment about all the "creepy guys". Perhaps I should have left it there for the amusement of those who bothered to read my profile, or for the women who would respond about their views of anal sex. Well, we all learn from our mistakes.

trolls

I used to get more trolled more, because sometimes I placed a story in the wrong category.

You might want to learn the categories and see what you can get away with.

Trolls on other sites

Hey Marie! Private messaged you first but you don't accept P.M's so I'll post and hope you look in on this thread again. Trolls don't just exist on Literotica they lurk on almost every forum you care to mention. Their main purpose in life seems to be to snipe at anyone who ( in the case of Lit.com) has enough talent and the nerve to attempt to write a story. I reckon since they can't or are too scared to try to produce a story they get their kicks by attacking anybody who has. On other forums their main tactic seems to be to wait until someone starts a thread then tell them they're wrong, illiterate, stupid, or evil minded. These dopes never seem to start a thread just attack anybody who does. If someone doesn't like what someone's written then CONSTUCTIVE criticism is fine but slagging off a guy or gal's work because you can is uncalled for. By the way,I've had one story on Lit.com and one on another website both lesbian themed and most people who contacted me thought I was a women writer. Just shows you can fool most of the people most of the time. Keep on writing and damn the trolls.

some people do not know to encourage art work.. story writing is a great art work specially the erotic ones needs a lot of imagination.. pls dont bother abt others... live your own way..
