Hello all. I've been on this forum for quite a long time, however under a different name that I have changed due to personal reasons. Just wanted to let everyone know I received my Literotica acceptance to be a VE about a week or two ago and have yet to receive any submissions.

I enjoy plot strengthening and mediation, as well as grammar and spell checking. There are a few areas in where I would reject a submission to edit. I am open to all genres of erotic literature, however if I do find a submission I am uncomfortable with, I will respond promptly and will work with you to find someone more suited to your needs.

I do come from quite a literature-based background professionally as well as artistically, so please feel free to ask questions. While I choose not to disclose many facts about my personal worklife, please be advised that I am always willing to contribute first-hand experiences, sessions, etc. to aide in your writing abilities as well as cultivate them to the best of my knowledge.

Thank you.

Welcome aboard, AAG!

I don't know how much traffic comes through the VE list, but quite often authors will post requests here or may send you a PM based on your introduction post.

Now ... head over the the Free Association thread and start posting. That's where all the cool kids hang out.

Seriously ... glad to see a "new" face and welcome to the EF.

Allow me to add my welcome to the EF AAG. It's good to see fresh blood in the EF....now if only we saw as many new writers willing to use us huh?

I loved your description in the VE section, but when I asked for your help on a story, you were too busy. That's the problem with the good ones, you're always busy (because everyone knows you're good). It worked out because I found an editor I like and an author who likes to assist me with plot and dialogue issues. But I've found that it's like dating, all a matter of timing (and mine always sucks).

Yeah I know...I remember Des and now reading your stories purely as a reader I'm kicking myself. :(

Look like my lost was Angel's gain and I'm happy for you both. You seem to be working well together and it's all that matters.

That may be the nicest thing anyone's said to me, thank you (blush). I like working with a female editor because my big concern is always accurately portraying a woman's POV without being stupid. I know that I can explain the male POV the way I want to (although opinions vary about how well I actually do it). BTW, I wasn't fishing for a compliment, just pointing out that finding the right person can be very difficult.

To All-American Girl, it is important that any editor be firm with the authors they work with, I'd rather have them tell me in private (while I can still make changes) that I did something stupid than hear it in the public comment section. I recently got some advice from a female author on a new story that has a Ch1 told from a wife's perspective. The first draft received about 10 long comments from her about dumb things I wrote that guys might think a woman would feel or say. I used her comments to make signifcant changes which earned me a thumbs up from her and the two male authors I showed it to. If I can just get the end of Ch3 right, I think it will be a really entertaining story.

If writers like me see your name on good stories, trust me, we'll find you. If you try to be too nice to authors because you don't want to upset anyone, your name might be on crappy stories (and authors might unfairly think you aren't the right person for them). Listen to Lady Cibelle, her reputation for being brutally honest makes her an editor almost any writer would want to work with (at least anyone who wants to be successful).

Awww and look who's sending compliments left and right now huh? You're making me blush.

My intent wasn't to compliment you, you know? If you know that I'm brutally honest with my writers, you also know that I don't have a single ounce of diplomacy and nicety in me. I tell it like it is, pure and simple, just like I would tell you (or anyone else for that matter) if I thought your story was pure crap, I'm also honest enough to say it when a story catches my eyes and make me wish I was the one who'd had the chance of seeing it before everybody else.

I'm looking around for an editor at the moment. If you want to PM me I'll send you a sample of my work. It would also help if I could see a sample of work that you have edited (without revealing your former identity). :)
