New UK Thread

I think country houses (big posh ones) had ice houses built outside, usually at least part underground. Packed with ice gathered in winter which lasted ages, into summer.
Pay me no mind. I’m a Yankee. My family originally came from Ireland. Least half of them. The others are German mostly. After that I’m a mutt. Bunch of nationalities.

I live beside the sea and have a sea breeze. But it is still too hot for my elderly, health-challenged body. I'm skulking indoors or outside in the shade and wind, doing nothing except drink plenty of cold drinks.

You chose wisely 😅😅

As it is cooling down to 26 C we went shopping. On the way back I filled up my car - £111.11 but I saved £2.36 by using the cheapest! local petrol outlet. The others were 4 or 5 p a litre dearer.

As my other half told the chap who swiped her card the last time she filled up: 'I don't want to buy the station. I just want to pay for the petrol I put in my car.' :(

I hope that everyone enjoys their sunday. Too hot to carry on gardening so time for cold drinks. Too early for Pimms? (Just asking for a friend 😉)

I've searched high and low and I'm unable to find the previous iteration of this thread. We need a place to post about the weather and biscuits. But more importantly we need to comment about Boris falling on his sword. I for one think it's not soon enough.

Please add your thoughts and then we can get bngack to biscuits and weather.
Glad you took the time to make a new one T&C
I went up to page 14 searching for the old one.

On a similar note, l was in my garden today tending my bananas and lime tree. Fully removed my wife's bush as she is away for a while.
I've never had a Pimms in my life. Similar to sangria?

Yikes...111pounds to fill your car?

Going to chill in the garden and crack open a bottle of wine.
Weather like this should be enjoyed.
Neighbours are cutting the hedges and mowing the lawns..why?

Thanks, you've created a comfy atmosphere where biscuits and the weather can be equally discussed.
