Hello! I've been on lit for years and in the last few months I have strayed from the GB to the How To board, and the BDSM forum. Today, I decided to check out this board. I'm bi and my husband and I are looking for a woman for me to explore my bi side with and ocassionally have a 3some with me and my husband. We are also looking for another couple to experiment with and explore with.

My question is this: On the BDSM board, and here, I have seen people refer to "the lifestyle." Does it mean the same thing in both places? We have joined a swinger's site and some people refer to "the lifestyle." Does that mean they are into BDSM, as well as swinging? Or is the swinging a "lifestyle" on it's own? If so, how do we know which "lifestyle" they are refering to?

This isn't a swingers board, but I can try to answer anyway. You're right that both BDSM and swinging are referred to as "lifestyle" - usually it's a matter of context. There's not usually much intersection between kink and swinging communities.

As for GLBT, it's not really called lifestyle anymore. A lot of people like to say "it's a life, not a lifestyle!"
