This is a quick survey, would you rather starta new thread or be pick a new thread, worm your way into a developed thread, or take part in an open thread (one with open spots for new characters)?

What kind of threads trip your trigger?
two player
multiplayer
ones you just read
ones you write in

etc etc

Being relatively new to Lit. I'm trying a number of the types.

The multi-player threads bring the most surprises as the different writers weave into the story line, but it's much harder to keep continuity.

Two persond threads progress faster and are generally more satisfying.

There are two interesting things that I've noticed. A lot of newbies with 5 or less posts, are starting threads. It appears that many of the most experienced writers decline to write with newbies, so those newbie threads die out fast...

I tend to go more for the story idea rather than the number of players or their experience.

As to starting my own threads, well unfortunately i havent had much luck on that, threads Ive started have died rather quickly, the latest one and jus starting ( Eternal Darkness is the name :) ) looks promising...

And I agree with ozme52 multi player threads offer a lot of possibilities mainly because of the diversity of writers, on the bad side, its hard to keep them under control and usually do not last long... at least on my experience.

White and Oz are right. Multi-players are...very hard to keep up with. Some leave *ahem* and others just don't show up. That makes things really hard.

Dual role-playing is very good. Its limited with characters and could progress quite quickly.

I usually don't start my own thread nor do I open one that's relatively similar. I might, in the future, but for now I'm staying tact. I've been working my way through a thread or just jump in an open thread and get naughty :p

I worm in. Let others do the work of setting up and maintaining. Whenever I've tried, it just fails. So, I just join.

I am still fairly new myself, haveing only posted to 2 threads but I came upon a closed thread that in order to participate I had to apply for a 'job'. This works well for me in that I know my part and everyone else knows theirs. The story line can go anywhere within this place of employment but there aren't too many people jumping in randomly to have to keep track of. I don't see myself being brave enough to start my own thread anytime soon....

so do you have any people whose threads you like to get involved in?

After all not everyone can start a thread

No, it has more to do with the story line.

Is the idea intriguing? (sorry, not making fun, it's just the right word.)

Would I like to explore that particular fantasy. It doesn't always go the way you expect, but the pursuiing the possibilities makes the role play fun.
