I was just notified that my sick story "Killfuck" will be published in an anthology of erotic horror called Dark Sins and Desires Unveiled. I was hesitant to send it in because there isn't much that is erotic to it, but it fit the description of what they were looking for in every other way. They wanted stuff where the bad guys win and that isn't afraid to push the envelope. That it does.

I was a little surprised when they took it. It is the sickest thing I have ever read. But it's another credit for the resume. :)

In other Boota news, I am doing my first interview for my novel tomorrow. The local paper called me to come in and talk about it. And who doesn't like to talk about their writing? LOL.

Cool news Boota. Congratulations on both the book and the entry to the Anthology. Sounds super cool. Good luck with the interview. No doubt, it'll be smashing.

Boo, congrats again. Please post the interview, or provide a link.

Perdita :)

Thank you Lucky and Perdita. :)

The interview went fairly well, I think. The interviewer hasn't read my book, which might be a small blessing, considering the little conservative town I'm in. Once they figure out it's offensive it will be too late. LOL. I don't know if the interview will be posted online, but I'll do something to get it up here. It's going to be in the local newspaper.

Boota, that's great news; i'll have to look for it.

J.

Congratulations on both counts, Boota.

Also, you have my interest now on both of them. I see this as a prime opportunity for some follow through self promotion. Do not leave the interested hanging!

Perhaps, you could post the information about your novel in the thread in this forum at the top called Literotica Authors and Their Books. It receives a healthy amount of look sees each month.

Who's publishing it and when will it be out? Hard-copy or e-book? Does this mean that you're going to retire to the south of France now and start smoking a pipe? :D

---dr.M.

Thank you Pure, Omni, and Dr. M!

Dr. M, it is being published by a new company called Underground Publishing, with a sister company called Uncensored Publishing. It's going to be out in hard copy. The south of France and the pipe smoking will have to wait. LOL. But it doesn't sound bad at all.

Omni, I have posted a link in the Literotica Authors and Their Books thread. But, so as not to leave you hanging, here's the address to my page for the novel:

www.mr-undesirable.com

That goes to my page on the 1stBooks site. It has an About the Book section, About the Author, and a two page preview. It's quite different from my story on here. The only sex scene in Mr. Undesirable is between two dogs on the front lawn. :)

Thank you for your interest.

Two excerpts from the excerpt on Mr Undesirable:
____________________________________________________
The worst part about being alone was that my ex-fiancée was in the newspaper every nine months like clockwork popping out a new kid from the guy she left me for. They had been married for a little over three years and had four children. I never saw her or talked to her anymore, but I still knew what her vagina was up to.

___________________________________________________

The other outlet, sadly, was Challenge Masturbation. Anyone can crank one off to a dirty magazine. Challenge Masturbation is a much more demanding sport. Try beating off to the Jesus channel while thinking pure thoughts. Try spanking your monkey while having a normal phone conversation with your grandmother. Really, go try it. I’ll wait.

Not so easy, is it?

Boota!! I apologize for not seeing your blurb in the Authors and Their Stories thread. I happened across it yesterday when looking through the thread again with the intent to go and visit several of the authors offerings I had not gotten to yet.

BUT!! Your little blurb there was quite unassuming. I will admit when I read it and saw it had no sex, but one bestial offering <joking> I did pass it by. Oops, just shows how single minded I can be. Shame on me!

However, now I have just gone to this site where your book is offered through this thread and can I say that the excerpt from your book has TOTALLY engaged me.

These two excerpts above from your excerpt are priceless! Boy, I am excerpting, excerpts here! Might I suggest with ummm, a very strong nudge that you edit your blurb in the Authors and Their Stories section (or just add a new post) to add the books synopsis AND most definitely the excerpt!!

Entice, entice entice us!!

Thank you, I will be purchasing this ebook.

Omni,

Thank you! I am happy that you like my little excerpt piece! It was hard to pick that part out to put in as the preview. I wanted two pages that could stay in sequence instead of a few excerpts from larger scenes. I think there is a lot better stuff in the book, but that preview seems to be doing the trick. :) Every time I go somewhere find someone else who has read that preview because they scream out, 'Challenge Masturbation!" LOL. I've been selling quite a few copies from that excerpt alone. I have no idea exactly how many, but the reports I'm getting back are encouraging. I don't know if I've sold any ebooks yet at all. I guess I'll know what the deal is at the end of this quarter. LOL.

I will definitely take your advice and post a more upfront blurb in the Literotica Authors and Their Books thread. I'll put the About the Book part in and see if anyone notices. I'm just a quiet guy by nature. I guess I'll have to get over that and promote myself a bit more. (Hard to believe I'm a quiet guy and I play in a metal band, huh? LOL.)

I can see why. That! is a priceless little bit of promotion. Congrats.

We are all a wide spectrum of contradictions. But can you really play quiet metal? Just teasing. :D

Omni :rose:

You know, I do actually have a lot of quiet songs. LOL. I mix them in between sonic brain bombs. :)

Here is my first interview/article for my book. I was happy to find it online. This was on the front page of my local paper. It just came out this morning and I'm already getting a lot of local feedback on it. My grandmother picked up her paper this morning, saw the picture that accompanied the story and thought, "Oh God! What did he do now?" LOL. The picture really does look like a mugshot. Too bad it wasn't included in the online article.

Local musician publishes novel

Scott Carpenter hopes his first novel will follow the success of "Legally Blonde" and "Proof of Life."

The 34-year-old Kokomo resident said the Hollywood movies were based on books published by 1stBooks, which published Carpenter's novel "Mr. Undesirable" in January.

Lenny Kapowski, a 29-year-old dirt poor, foul-mouthed malcontent, is the novel's central character.

When Kapowski wins $158 million in the lottery, he decides to get his revenge against Dr. Wayne Stevens and the other snobs of Rambling Hills Community.

In taking his revenge with the help of lawyer Calvin Greenlee, Kapowski eventually forms an empire, Kapow World Media.

Carpenter describes Kapowski as a smaller, nicer version of him. He insists some of the characters are completely fictional, though some readers have had their doubts.

"I'd come up with something I thought was funny then read it again a couple days later and laugh even more," Carpenter said. "I like that some of the language and the situations are going to shock people."

After writing three short stories in 1999, Carpenter began the 476-page novel in November 2001, completing it in April 2003.

He did the writing while working for Kokomo Sanitary Pottery Corporation.

"The story just kept going," he said. "I was kind of sorry when it was over."

The book caught the eye of Joane Schaublin at 1stBooks, who forwarded the novel to a Hollywood agent, Carpenter said.

"It's kind of nice having people behind me for a change instead of against me," he added.

Although Carpenter is thrilled with the way his novel has been received, his 33-year-old brother, Jeff, objected to the novel's language.

"What he didn't know was I based it on how he used to talk," Carpenter said.

A future in fiction

Carpenter said he has been playing guitar nearly 20 years. He plays lead guitar for his band Fetish, which has been together intermittently since 1986.

He owns a studio where the band records. Carpenter describes the music as "KISS riffs the way Metallica would do them" and cited Motley Crue as another influence.

Writing songs is like sprinting compared to the marathon task of writing a novel, Carpenter said.

Carpenter is now at work on his second novel. He said he hopes to develop his skill at writing the way Stephen King has.

Boota: That is awesome. I'm inspired and really proud of you.

Way to go, Man. Keep up the good work.

...about this band, sounds heavy! Grrrrrrrrr...

Thank you Lucky and Tatelou! :)

Lucky, we are a fairly heavy band. Except for the piano songs. LOL. While I'm self-promoting, here's a link to my bands page:

www.bignoisenow.com/fetish.html

It has some song clips and background on us, and a very outdated picture from 1998. I'm the big, ugly bald guy. I'm still big and ugly, but I've lost about 100 pounds since that picture was taken.
