I copied and pasted a story from MS Word into the text box; a normal procedure for me. I received a rejection notice on March 8. It said, to the effect that 'it seems only half of your story was posted or incomplete.' I opened the returned article and sure enough it was cutoff in the middle of the story. I had noticed the server acting strangely; slow saves as I edited, once it even closed the window. When I reopened the story; it was there and I continued to edit and make the final 'white space' adjustments. Saved it and published; so I thought. The last save must have been when only half of the story made it to the server.

I went back through the whole process again and added a note to the info box on what happened so someone would know the story had been previously submitted.

This may have been during that 'major upgrade' process mentioned by Manu's tech note. Not sure if this is related.

The forum & board side of the site is undergoing a major transformation as it transitions to XenForo (it had been using Vbulletin since the site launched). In addition to the obvious impact to that "side of the house," there will be some substantial impact on the story side as well, particularly once the site merges the "followers." Right now, there are a large number of bugs that need to be worked out. Laurel and Manu are both being deluged with PMs, to the point they're not even answering them. I cannot begin to imagine what their mailboxes must look like right now... 😱

Any story that requires Laurel's personal attention is currently stuck in the queue right now. That means an awful lot of authors are waiting much longer than normal for approval. What you probably should do is delete the current version of the story entirely (use the little 'Delete' button in the bottom left corner) and simply submit the "cleaned-up" version of your story as a new submission. You'll avoid the longer queue for an edit, and should be on the site in the normal 2-3 days.

Good luck!

Thank you. I will resubmit the story. FYI. Trying to get back to the forum and see your message, I encountered six error messages about timeout for the server or server not found. I would hate to be the guy on the backend of the server now. He or She must need a new 12 pack of toilet paper as this unwinds! ;-)

Glad to see my post went through. Evidently I managed to sneak it in right before they reset the server.

Yikes, what a day! 😬

Surprise, Surprise! My story DID post 14 hours ago it seems, before I got around to logging back in, to delete and resubmit! Hurray for the 'back-end team!' The network one ;-)

Hi there,

I love being able to post on Literotica. But I've got a new story that is redirected to someone else's content. I have emailed about this problem but have not yet had a reply. Can someone help me please? Is it because the title in "999" and this has somehow confused the system?

Help would be greatly appreciated - I'm sorry to cannibalize this thread but I do not have sufficient posting to start a new one.
