New Story (first in a potential series)

My latest story, "Spy Games (Chapter 1)", has been posted to the site, I'd love to hear what you all think of it. It's a BDSM story set in World War 2 - I've already written a second chapter, still waiting to be posted, and may do more if people like them.

I instantly raised my eyebrows and thought, well well, this is probably going to be good: before I'd got to the first paragraph. The heading with its (Secker & Warburg, 1977) had me thinking this is positively going to reek with authenticity.

The first paragraph confirms it. It's perfectly written. Stylistically you've got it down pat. It seems like you know your historical context too. (Any quibbles I make in this regard might well be my ignorance; I don't know much about it.)

First quibble: various clubs and theatres - in wartime London?

an RAF Group Captain of some little standing ... were of some standing in Staff Command circles ... of an extremely sensitive standing.

Oh my, my, my, :rubs collar:, I'm getting quite involved with this. You know, I didn't know we did these things in the War, stiff upper lips and... oh yes, quite, I see. Lower lips not included. This is very good.

The sexual scene is great, then there's little details like this that make it flow so well:

I couldn’t help it. I kicked the desk, hard. A glass of water he had on there toppled to the floor and smashed. He looked sadly down at it, but said nothing.

“Nobody’s going to hold it against you Richard,” he assured me. “You did a great job.”

And the ending... Yess!

Thanks - I'm very glad you enjoyed it, other people seem to have too which is great. I almost had to remove the top bit, as first time around it got rejected from submission because they wanted to be sure it wasn't an extract from a real book, LOL.
