I already have quite a few posting on Literotica but I also have 7 or 8 more stories in various stages of completion because I don't know where to go from here. How do I get help to finish these stories?

Ed,

I don't have the answer, but I do share the problem.

Sometimes a story that was very easy to write the first 75% of, becomes very difficult to complete. In most cases, I found that the problem was in what I'd written, rather than in what I needed to write. I reviewed where I'd got to, and how I'd got there, and then edited the story. I found, in two cases, that it worked.

However, in a few cases the required re-write is so exstensive, or I can't see the way forward, that I start a new story.

I hope that this helps.

Help

Are you asking for help, or are you asking how you would go about getting help?

In either case, we'd need to know more of what the problems are.

I guess I am asking for both, help now and where I would go about getting help in the future.
The problem seems to be that I get a good idea for a story line but often it just continues to go on and on without any conclusion.
At this moment, I have five stories in various stages of completion. Some are comparatively short, erotic sex stories while others are more long, drawn out tales. In one, I even know where I want it to go I just don't know how to get there.

How it goes

I'm going to take a guess that the way you go about thinking of a story is that yoiu think of an erotic scene ot situation and then write until you get to that scene, write the scene, and then you're stuck. Is that right?

If so, you could change from trying to write a story to just writing a vignette or erotic scene. I know there's a lot of people here who don't think that's kosher, but I myself have no problem with that. I've done it & published it.

If you take a little vignette and try to turn it into a story, it can feel very artificial and lose whatever life it had as you try and drag these characters through things their hearts really aren't in.

Or, there's Dr. Mabeuse' patented never-fail story and novel ending, but this can only be used under license to Dr. Mabeuse Inductries Corp. What you do is get to the place in your story where you're stuck, and then write:
"...and then they all died in the quicksand."

Might I suggest the Story Ideas board? Many authors go there with a story idea in their mind already. They write up a quick summary of what they see their story being in their head, and then they ask for opinions. Many good ideas float around there, and there's lots of brainstorming.
