What happens when you meet someone new?

If I really like him (and in this case, I do!) the weirdest thing happens: I don't want to tell anybody. I can't tell if it's because I'm afraid I'll jinx it or if I'm just afraid of pointing people to the giant X on my treasure map, in case they run to get there first. But there you have it: For once in my life, I don't want to tell anybody!

Nevertheless, because I like y'all and want you to share my joy, I begin this thread against my instinctive tendency toward reticence.

If I told you, I'd have to kill you!

Or, you know, cry into my pillow every night 'cause you stole my dreams...

Okay, so to be entirely honest, there are two: And I'll head y'all off at the pass by admitting straight up that I haven't met one of them yet. We have plans for Friday.

But the other one is super-neat. We've been dating a bit over a month, and if you remember my thread on crawling, this is that guy. I'm having just about as much fun as a girl can have!

I totally agree with that feeling. :) I have an entire forum full of acquaintances (I won't quite say friends, but acquaintance is fine) who know I'm seeing someone, but haven't a clue that it's another forum-goer. Hush hush hush, that's me. :p

Edited to add: That's a different forum, btw. Not this one. :p

Have all the fun in the world babe.

I'm the same way, when I really like a guy I'm afraid to tell anyone. Except my mom who I tell everything to, I'll blather on to her like there's no tomarrow. But she's sort of always been my safe gard. When ever I meet some one, since I was a teen, she wanted a name, a phone number, an address, a full discription, pic and or to meet him in person before I could leave. She wants to know where I'm going, when I'm expected back, and who's driving. I joked with my Sir once, while I was living with her, and told him that she wants everything but his shoe size before I go over to visit him, she promptly yelled back at me "I want that too". *giggles* so my mom and I have a very interesting relationship, infact she's my safe call.

now that I've totally drifted off topic, I'll go back to just being happy for you. :rose:

Oh man, I learned the hard way never to tell my mom anything about a guy I like. She has a tendency to look harder for flaws in a person the more I like him.

But that's neither here nor there. Thanks for being all supportive of my giggly gossipy-ness!

You sneaky little wench! It's okay, though, we'll keep your secrets.

*waiting for friday*

Course we will want the following:
Comparision chart of all areas
A summation of the additional extras that one provides which they other did not
A poll to see which one you should be with

The poll should include the option of having both on a regular basis

See what you started

:D

Haha! All right, I'll see if my PowerPoint skills are up to the task...

Good for you!

That first hopeful flush of joy and possibilities at the beginning of a relationship is so wonderful!

Without NRE would we expend the time and effort it takes to get to know the heart and should of another person?

I don’t think so.
Yes, NRE is the best sort of carrot to drive us toward real human contact.

Well, the unmet Dom (Shall we call him F?) and I got impatient and moved our first date to Thursday night (yesterday). I know you want to hear the details!

Yeah, he's quite as hot as in person as he appeared on his webcam. And fully capable of keeping up his end of the conversation, both in intelligence and in contributable life experience. Sadly, it seems that he's one of those people who likes to do off-the-wall things just to fuck with other people for his own entertainment. I think I grew out of that phase around age 17. Still, you know, he does have one or two redeeming qualities! ;)

LOL

I think I'm gonna tell K this. It'll get an interesting reaction. "But, honey! Why can't I ask to see their dicks? You never know when one's interesting."

Okay, F is definitely out of the running. On our second date (yesterday, with a crew of my friends in tow) he came out not only as being homophobic, but also as wanting to move in with me in my apartment. Ack! Guess I'll have to keep my scientific research going with other test subjects...

But E remains an exciting possibility. He has, in fact, way more experience in formal BDSM (as opposed to simply rough, bound, painful sex) than I do, so he intimidates me sometimes. And he's a Renaissance Faire dork (the kind I swore I'd never date). But as far as downsides go, these are really only a couple inches down from the top. I can't complain too much!

What fun "research!" I so wish I could help! *smiles*

I recently took a new sub, my first in over a year. We are in week 2 of our "training" contract, week 6 of knowing each other. Last week we were totally in the happy-sappy-cheesy honeymoon phase. We were both all smiles and happyness just to be near each other. That comes from the comfort with each other and thus connection we share. It's really a lovely fit. She makes me feel like the luckiest Dom in he world.

Personally, the thought of her makes me smile. The thought of my ownership of her makes me smile. I want to tell people I know, though for various reason can't (don't). I want to show my new toy off to everyone...whenever I look at another woman I see her and my mind instantly wanders to our contract.

Now I've had many subs. I've been doing this a longtime and each one is special, especially in the early days. However my new girl is even more special due to a few factors, one of which is how well our tastes and desires as a D/s meet, but also because she is my peer. She is a beautiful girl who has entrusted me with a very precious gift. We still have a happy-sappy vibe, even when I'm rough my use of her, and I don't see it changing anytime soon. It's that good of a fit.

*smiles*

That sounds wonderful River of Shudders! Good for you two! It warmed me to read your post.

When one who has been on the shelf for a while finally meets a person they connect with on so many levels it can be quite intoxicating.............it creates a rush no drug could ever match.

Hey! What's wrong with Ren geeks! :D
Obviously the problem with Ren geeks is that I'm jealous of them. Right?

Nah, I just never got into it. Most of the folks I've met in my area (although admittedly we're not like Faire Central around here) who are into Renaissance Faires are Peter Pan types who never quite figured out a way to fit into the "real world." And I do like my Domly Ones to have a place and a comfortableness in the World as I Know It.

Ah! okay that is a different breed, and not one I'm fond of either. When I think Ren geeks, I think of the guys at the shop that have been doing stage combat for 10+ years (at least), and do "stupidity on horseback". They walk around the shop, and at shows in tights or kilts. But when they set up at the club the leather comes out. They know their history, and have studied well. They "play" pirates and Scottsmen when the time calls for it, but know it's not the world.

Totally different then what you're saying.
