One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

During WW2 resistance fighters in France and UK's Marine Commandos were categorised by Hitler's Germany as terrorists to be shot on sight, and executed if captured. RAF bomber crew were described as 'Terror Fliers' and some who parachuted from damaged aircraft were lynched by German civilians killing 'terrorists'.

The Taliban in Afghanistan were funded and supplied with arms when that country was occupied by Russia. By whom? The USA, supporting freedom fighters. Now the Taliban are terrorists.

Edited to add: Many people that the British Empire regarded as terrorists ended up as Heads of former Empire states - including Israel.

It was once said that the most likely items on a Resume for a Head of a Commonwealth country were either Sandhurst (Britain's Army Officer Training Establishment) or a British jail as a terrorist (or both).
