Several days ago my neighbors trailer was sold. This evening I saw one of the changes the new owners had created, and saw them for the first time.

The first thing I noticed was the color of the trailer. It is no longer white with dark green trim. Instead it is a Salmon Pink with light green trim.

I was introduced in a way to my new neighbors when I started pullng into my spot and found two kids about eight years old playing in my parking spot. They completey ignored me and my car as I sat there waitng for them to move. Finally their mother came over and told them to move while giving us the evil eye. They reluctantly moved as I pulled into my parking space. I looked over at their car, a nice shiny Escalade with Miami Tags.

This should be interesting. I wonder what our new neighbors are going to be like.

Wow.

Salmon Pink is a risky choice on its own, but combined with light green? God, I can only imagine how awful it looks.

I'm thinking white gravel can't be far behind. Good luck. Keep us posted. :)

Hey, I like pink....

But not for a trailer.

Bwahahahahaha

My first action upon pulling in and seeing the new color scheme was to take off my sunglasses to make sure they weren't changing the colors. (They weren't although they were makng it a bit more presentable.) My first comment was "Good God!"

I wonder how they will react when I put out my Pink Flamingo?

A local thrift store was selling a junky old mannequin of a small child, about 5 years or so. I really wanted to buy it and stick it in the front yard and dress it up for the various special occasions and holidays. But since I live out in the country and nobody would see it most of the time, I didn't.

Sure was tempting, though.

What colors that 'sclade---and does it have those fancy mag's that spin independently of the wheels--and Miami/Dade tags?

Gonna be interestin'. ;)

I currently have two Pink Flamingoes sitting in my back room. Both in their boxes. My mother, knowing me oh so well, found them in a yard sale. One shall be placed in the yard while the other will be stored away. (They no longer make them.)

I think they still make them, but like so many other things, they're now outsourced. No more American born flamingos. They're all aliens.

Silver with tinted windows and yes it does have those fancy spinning Hubcaps. Yep Miami Tags.

I'm hoping they are going to be nice quiet and hardworking neighbors with bad taste. (I've been accused of that before.)

What shall of course be interesting is how they react to my hidden smoker. (Yep I have one made from an old fridge. It's hidden away between my shed and my trailer.)

So many things to say, off color, off key and out of context.... :D

I think I will just walk away...

(Hey Cat, luck with the neighbors...)

{Thinks cat paw prints on shiny Escalade....}

Sounds like you should put the flamingos in THEIR yard. ;)

Supposedly there was only one factory that was legally allowed to make them. There weren't any others being made anywhere that I was aware of. The factory that made them closed down last year. As far as I'm aware they aren't being made by anyone right now.

I did a little bit of Googling. There are still pink flamingos available for purchase, but all the sites say that they are "not the original" or "very close to the original" or words to that effect. They look just like the ones I remember, but I guess a connoisseur of the lawn bird in question might be able to tell the difference....

Somebody somewhere must be making them...

Oh, and the price varies widely. If you're in the mood for a bit of garden decor, I'd shop around ...

Oh my poor new neighbors. (Not to mention the rest of my neighbors. )

I have the grill fired up and the smokebox cooking. Sitting on the grill in low heat and heavy smoke are several Eye Round Steaks which have marinated for the past 24 hours in Jerk Sauce. You can smell it all over the neighborhood. (Yes the new neighbors can smell it even though they have their windows closed and their A/C cranked up. I can tell because I can see them comng t the windows and looking at the grill.)

It smells good and will taste even better.

Oh and we're having Mixed Veggies and spiced Oven Fries with the Steak.

I'm torn between being hungry from the description of supper and in despair because of the loss of the flamingos!

Well dinner was outstanding.

As for the Flamingoes, well I now have two and I'm keeping an eye out for more. (I have people in work who do a lot of yard saling looking or them for me as well.) Hopefully I'll get a few more.

There is a bit of a wicked streak in you. Admit it.

I kinda like groupings of them in a yard. Kind of like a happy flamingo family. I used to imagine they said things like "Night, John Boy" and "Night Mary Ellen" to each other when I was a kid.
