New Milestones Thread

[yowser]

For reasons entirely unrelated to the notion of milestones (going through the comments I've made on stories over the years in order to help expand and inform my 'all time best' reading list) I found that since I started here in 2014, I've commented on 875 stories.

Which means I have read that number, since I don't comment on a story unless I have read the whole thing, or pretty near. That's a whole pile of smut-reading to 'fess up to, and that fact takes at least some of my breath away. (Yes I do have a life outside of Lit.)

Add the more extensive reviews I have done in the 'Story Feedback' side of things and we're a good way over 900, almost a hundred comments a year. Sheesh.

[StillStunned]

Apparently some time ago I passed 10k total votes on my stories. Almost 8k are spread across the six instalments of "My Little Sister Sal", but still.

I'm on 529 comments for this year alone.

"On your left!"

So, I forgot to put this out there when it happened. I'm unsure if this is the seventh or sixth time I've had a story featured on Dirty Bits Podcast, maybe a few more or less. Anyway, this is on their website.

I think it's a story from here. I published it here in March. A Mexican Cutie for your listening pleasure!

Is there a way to look that stat up, or you just keep count?

Out of place being this is a romance, but being Halloween is coming...

Home is Where the Heart is received its 666th comment a couple of days ago.

Well, your public profile keeps count of your comments. As I only joined Literotica in February, it's fairly easy for me to work out how many comments I made this year!

For me, that bus has long since left the station, the ship's set sail, and the jumper has hit the bricks. So to speak.

Lead by example indeed. I am now trying to leave a comment on every story I thought was decent but I am far from being on your level. You are also often promoting other people's stories. I wish more people here were like you.

[THBGato]

Aw, shucks!

But has the shit hit the fan?

Oh, comments made. I thought you meant received.

Oh, no... though, again, as I only joined this year that's easy to work out (299).

It's not a milestone as such, but since the OP also talks about things we're proud of, I want to share this here.

I'm really pleased with my latest story's performance. Nearly 12k views in less than 36 hours, with 243 votes and a handful of very positive comments - and it's not even in I/T!

Not only that, it's brought me more than a dozen new followers, and viewing numbers and scores on all my other stories are up as well.

It can be frustrating when we publish a story we're really excited about, only to see it languish with 1k views and barely scrape 10 votes. But if that same story finds the readers and resonates with them, it's one of the best feelings in the world.

Milestone: Wrote a story with another author without either of us trying to throttle the other or argue over the minutiae (we both had ideas, we melded them together, and we expanded on each other's ideas or corrected them in the best ways. I didn't get offended at any of his suggestions, and I hope he didn't get offended at any of mine!)

Proud moment: It's doing really well and I'm quite thrilled with its reception!

Sometime last week I went over 33k sales all time on the Smashwords site.

It was so good, it actually had me wanting the female MC to turn down the other girl's advances and stay with the male MC. Unheard of!

But ask yourself this: who's really successful? You, with your 33k sales, or us, with all our posts and comments and arguments here in the AH?

Both things can be true.

I'm stuck at 199 followers. Hum!

I finished my eigth story today and it is my longest yet clocking in at 11.8K words pre-editor review. Getting happier and more comfortable with my writing style.

[MillieDynamite]

Ta-da!

[NoTalentHack]

While I wasn't looking, At the End of the Tour snuck up past 500 favorites!

Crafty little bastard.

Perhaps an anti-milestone. I find I get about 20 new followers with each post. I was at around 980 followers a month ago. I released two works (one fared poorly) and now stand at... 997.

A watched pot never boils, I guess.
