New Milestones Thread

I'm not sure if this is completely on-topic, but, I really wanted to share it with someone outside the circle of kinksters who reads my stuff. My latest story is about a woman sentenced to solitary confinement, and I wrote this line which I'm just really proud of. I don't consider myself a good writer, but some times I do enjoy taking some pride in my hobby!

Alex had spent almost eleven months confined in complete isolation as winter painted the world monochrome, hundreds of feet above her.

The previous incarnation of this thread had "brag" in the title, so I think hitting on a great line of prose qualifies.

Perhaps not a milestone in the classical sense, but it's a good feeling when my very first follower still adds my latest stories to favourites many months later. 😊 Thank you, @Lefki_Nyx for your support!

Can I just say how wholesome it is that you know who your first follower is? Ashamedly, I don't know who mine is, nor do I know how to figure that out.

Oh, I will remember their name forever! But I believe that you can look it up. At least newcomers like me can. It's possible that oldtimers have had their follower lists reshuffled when the forum has transitioned between different versions, however.

But in case it hasn't; Go to your author's dashboard. Click "Following". Go to "My Followers". There, there should be pages listed of your followers, and they are in order that they opted to follow you in - top of page 1 is your first follower. (Provided there's been no reshuffling..)

Ooh ok thanks!

I agree with everything you said. Either an aggregate score for chaptered stories or just show the chapter that ranks the best. Making a separate ranking for short, medium, and long stories, where chaptered stories would be ranked according to their total word count, or something along those lines, would be even better. There are like ten different ways the scoring system could be modified or redone to be more informative for both readers and writers, but I guess we know better than to expect anything to change in this place, ever.
I just did a quick and dirty check of the Lesbian Sex Top 250 of all time and removed all of the extra chapters/parts other than the highest ranked one and my story at #80 moved up to #54. It also freed up 96 slots from the list so an additional 96 stories could be listed in the top 250.

I gather this is neither new nor a milestone, but since we're in agreement on the subject, I'll let it pass.
If you check what it was in response to, you'll see it made sense in the context.

Besides being a universal truth, of course.

Released two stories at once yesterday due to one being stuck in rejection/pending hell.

A few minor milestones occurring at around the same time for me.

- Just gone over 500,000 combined views across all my stories
- Just gone over 200 followers
- Will probably reach 50 published stories by the end of the month (48 already out, 1 750-word challenge already queued and 1 story which just needs a coda and a polish)

All this at around the two year mark of my return to publishing on the site. Nothing too mind-blowing but I like it when numbers go up.

I've gone a month without publishing a story. That's after 24 stories in less than five months.

Not a positive milestone, but a milestone nonetheless.
