New Milestones Thread

Today marks a deeply important milestone in my life: my story Better With You (Lesbian Sex) just received its 900th vote.

With a view count of 42.5k and having been online since the end of January, I genuinely have no idea why 900 feels significant. But it does. I have to measure my self-worth somehow, and this arbitrary number will do just fine.

How does one celebrate such an achievement? Probably with alcohol. Because nothing says mental health like drinking to commemorate the approval of strangers on the internet. But hey, that’s the beauty of being a grown-up: you can make questionable choices and call it self-care.

Cheers🥂

This week I dropped a new story, first one since March or April if I remember right. Apparently it's doing pretty well. 😍
In the last 72 hours I've tripled my number of followers to 50+, this is the first story to cross the 30k views mark, the first story to get more than 250 votes, and my first story to get more than 20 favorites (58 as of posting).
It's called One in Forty, link is in my signature.

That's pretty good with only four stories so far and all posted this year. You've been on here for 3 years but only started publishing stories this year, 'bout time you did too, after all your star can't shine if you keep hidden behind something.

About to take some time out of busy schedule to read your latest. Hopefully, it isn't a follow up to one or all of the others!

It is a stand alone, although it has potential to spawn at least two other stories, maybe more.
I am working on an expansion of A Different Kind of Valentine though. I've got the first 3 chapters written, and half of chapter 6.

Home is Where the Heart is just went over 700 comments. This was my first attempt at romance and 13 years later the reaction to it never fails to surprise me. Its so badly written, at least in my eyes today, but the storyline and power or it and the message is what carried it. Grammar matters, but storytelling matters more, you can't get people involved, then your perfect grammar is meaningless.

What happened with this story during a contest set me off on an F you campaign that lasted a good decade. I owe a lot to it in many ways.

A new milestone; I shouldn't write when riding the head-cold wave. I used "peak" instead of "peek", and this little bit of the Internet has erupted in rage at me. Also, major facepalm, it's not even like I'm confused by the words either. All I can surmise is that my fingers ran ahead of me and because there's no spelling mistake my usual scanning didn't find it.

Oh well, good excuse to be better next time! Or... maybe I'll start leaving spelling mistakes in occasionally to see who finds them. Muahhaha.

Look at the positive; spelling mistakes also help it not to flag as AI.

Those errors are annoying because they're easy to miss, except once the story is published, of course. And the readers always catch them.

My bête noire of that sort has been "waist" and "waste." Ouch.

I have a bad habit of mixing up coke and cock when I type and years ago one slipped through and I had a character popping open a can of cock and chugging it.

I find it annoying that the same readers who will completely miss the point of a story can find one misspelled word out of 12k and choose to comment on it.

Some readers are like that.

Your example conjured up a twisted plot bunny in my head about "snorting cock."

I've caught enough of those mix ups to provide you that story. Sniffing cock, lines of cock, sucking coke, the biggest coke they'd ever seen and my favorite, "Can you pick up a case of cock while you're out?"
This is a mental or finger glitch at this point because its been years of it to where I search both words in the doc before I publish anything.

That should definitely pique your audience.

Aww, bugger. I knew I shouldn't have messed with the big guy with the trident.
Then again, as an Australian, EB sure fits the description. 😁
Mind you, depending which list you look at, the numbers are different. You've got 666 on one list, but only 664 on another, which I swear was 665 yesterday...
