I told a friend about Lit, and they decided to become a member. Unfortunately, they entered their username and email address but have never received a confirmation email.

She's tried three different email addresses. This has been the case since Friday, the 5th.

When I joined, I received the email almost immediately, and my account was ready the very same day.

Check the SPAM folder. That's where mine went.

Your friend tried three different addresses, but were they at the same provider? Some providers might just block all "dirty" sites. It's free to create a Proton Mail address (just go to proton.me), and that's known to work with Literotica.

This has been a problem with Yahoo. They block Literotica's mail exchanger at the SMTP level, so the mail doesn't even make it to the DMARC checks and spam folder.

However, I don't know whether Lit can do anything about this. If Yahoo's mail exchanger returned a 521 status code, Lit's mail exchanger (which probably belongs to their ISP) would have positive indication of delivery failure. But that isn't guaranteed. Yahoo could be simply bit-bucketing the mail instead of passing it on to the DMARC checks. Which is very internet hostile, but Yahoo was never known for internet friendly behavior.

Lit's admins would have to reach out to Yahoo and try to fix it directly with them.

Source: Did tech support for a large blogging website for over a decade and had to deal with this exact issue, websites blocking our e-mails in the same way and us having to tell users it's not us, it's the e-mail company refusing to work with us when we try to fix this.

This is generally fixable if site askins actually care and try. Sometimes it involves fixing problem configurations, as in, trying and caring.

It would be nice if Literotica cared and tried. Do they? There’s not a lot of evidence saying they do.
