Good afternoon or good morning or good night (depending on where you are). I am a new member of the site. I guess I should introduce myself:,I live in Malta and I have been writing for a long time. I recently decided to try writing erotica. I have never really placed a great emphasis on sex in my writing so it was a bit of a revelation to myself to try and write something that I’d find sexy. My interests are varied. I like to write about heterosexual white girls (blondes and brunettes), who are either book smart innocents or sex crazed surgically enhanced bimbos. I know that’s random but it’s my forte at the moment. I will shortly be uploading my first story on the site and am hoping people on the site will enjoy it. I am hoping to be very active on the site so if you want to say hi please do and I’ll reply as soon as I can. Exciting times for me and I’m very happy to be here.

I'd say you shouldn't expect your first story to wow people. It took me a while to get the hang of writing erotic stories. The most important thing is to write what you enjoy writing. The pay's the same regardless of how many people enjoy reading it.

Depressed librarians, not so much. I've written librarians into a couple stories, one whose mother was pursued by King Kong. Can't do THAT on Malta! Probably.

Story setup: Innocent Irish gal Brigid with new degree in Library Science is hired by the Valletta Lending Library of Smut which loans books, videos, and sex toys to card-holders. Returned materials must be sterilized, of course. Newly-found troves of classical pr0n emerge from ancient catacombs; Brigid is assigned to categorize the torrid treasures. Wait, is that King Kong's taxidermied penis? How did it get to Malta? Tracing that troubled history... hilarity ensues.

For a change of pace, there are categories here where you can post non-erotic stories and essays/reviews too. And I guess the Romance category offers leeway for non-explicit themes. (I have posted a couple of essays here - bits of memoir actually - that have nothing to do with sex.)

So try samples of your other writing. You will get a smaller audience but you have the option if you wish to use it.

My most-seen story (in Incest) has over 150k views in 5 years. The next-highest batch in Incest and Loving Wives get 70k-120k views. My Non-erotic, Humor, and Essay pieces of similar vintage average around 7k views. My high-rated Romance story has 10k views. My Poetry (mostly songs, now removed from LIT) maybe each had a few dozen views.

So try samples of your other writing. You will get a smaller audience but you have the option if you wish to use it.

Authors must decide why they post to LIT. If for artistic self-expression, honing writing skills, or because voices in head demand it, then any fitting category will do. If to grab and provoke many eyeballs, write Incest-Taboo or Loving Wives. The latter will gather many comments, many hostile. But hey, I have AFFECTED them! Driven them to respond! Pushed their buttons! With that, my job is done.
