New Low

Well our pathetic voting system on CHYOO has reached a new low in that a story that is mostly erased, and does not even really exist any more is in 5th place on the all time list. I have to believe that goldfinger must be laughing.

This whole voting phenomenon would make a great thesis for a sociology class. I just can't figure out what drives the collective Chyoo community to keep driving the overall average down further and further. Some really good stories have gotten hosed and it seems like any story that floats to the top is quickly driven down.

well it's funny you point this out. I haven't paid attention to Chyoos home page for ever. Afterall it was updated 2 weeks ago, and before that it went a month. Only thing I look at is the fresh stories. Although that isn't always right either. Ohwell.

On another note, I actually enjoyed that one story of Goldfinger. I can't recall the name, but I wrote a couple threads in it. I wonder where my stories would be on the top lists. I guess it's worth a check.

The Mysteries of Chyoo

I pay attention to very little here. The exceptions being new stories, and story updates. The quirks here seem to have gotten quirkier. Has anyone else noticed in the "fresh" stories section that quite often there will be 7 or more stores that have all been updated with in minutes of each other? When one checks out the updates, as far as I am able to determine they were in fact never updated. I've had all of my stories updated at one time or another, without any addition from another author, or any update by myself. It must be a glitch. Or a weird joke.

As to ratings, as of now my highest rated story is 1.1 The rest are all at 0. something. Who cares? Not Laurel or Manu.

Ratings...

On a side note, last night I noticed that the ratings are actually working. If you click read all, or whatever, it works. The bad thing is it isn't quite right. For example, there are about 20 stories rated 4.3 and another 20 rated 4.2 does that mean there is a 20 story tie for top rated? I think it should go by number of votes. According to the list the top rated story had only 10 votes and a 4.3 rating, while another story had like 90 votes and a 4.3 rating and it was number 8 or lower. Ohwell. My stories fall somewhere around the 4.0 ratings which leave them around number 50 or higher. lol.

I think if your're story is low-key enough, it's ratings are pretty honest. mine has been at the high 3 low 4 mark for a while now. I attribute it to the fact that it doesn't regularly show up in any of the top lists (fresh, new, updated, highest rated). It will occasionally show up on the newly updated list when someone makes a contribution but that's it.

Hey,
I've noticed that when you go to any story and look at the summary and the satistics it will say 0.0 rating. Weird huh? However on My Stories page I checked them out and noticed that Johnny's Conscience has a 4.4 rating. However, it's not number one on the ratings pape. Ohwell.

The story with no story is moving up and is now third on the all time list... Goldfinger must be so proud. With a little more luck he could make it all the way to the top spot. Who would have believed it with his neo-religious views. Only on Chyoo I guess.

I've noticed that Goldfinger's blank story has moved down to second, while a story with only 1 rating of 5 is the top story of all time! My damn stories have 0.0 ratings! WHat the fuck is up with that? Excuse my language, I am just getting pissed off with Chyoo.

Yeah, I think we have to wait on getting the ratings feature fixed until the next update. I noticed that even some of the newest stories are messed up with ratings under one. Hopefully it will get fix sometime, but it is a small bug that does not affect the reading of the material.

Moving up again

The undead story from the late great Goldfinger is once again on the move up the rating charts. He has a solid hold and Number 2 and is only a couple of votes away from regaining the number 1 spot.

Oh I forgot you can do sarcasm in written form.
