New here, what are the accepted norms

New to the boards, read Lit for years.

Newly unattached 55 year old male.

What is acceptable as far as jumping into threads? Messaging? Humor? Etc.

Hoping to find a few friends, get adjusted to my new life, pass time.

Any input would be appreciated, so far I feel like I’m stumbling along like a newborn fawn.

If you post in threads, keep on topic. Some threads are a little more free for all, so you'll have more freedom in what you say. Find a thread that interests you, see what others have posted, and post away. Messaging, be polite and have something to say. And try not to be too tasteless with the humor unless that's the subject of a thread you're posting in. You learn by doing. You may make mistakes but that's how you learn. So jump in and have fun
