A pom for you guys, hope you like.
It's entitled......
The Snow Fall.
Snowflakes fall
with a whispering sigh
thru a lacework
of branches
woven
across a slate grey sky.
Like fragments
of poetry
random thoughts
or fading memories
that tickle the edge
of consciousness.
Some
falling to a stream
will merge with the dark waters
flowing within
yet never stand alone.
Others swirl dance
rise and fall on a rippling breeze
coming to rest
miles from their inception.
Like an unfinished stanza
written long ago
some will alight on the rosy cheek
of a child as a mothers kiss will
and only be recalled in adulthood
as a pleasant memory.
Others though
fall as a blizzard
but melt too fast
and overflow the dam within.
Some may survive
as a poem a story an essay perhaps
or a novel.
We live and breathe through one season only
one human life.
A single finite memory
crafted as we please.
Depicted like a painting of a snowfall
on a rocky hillside
meant for others to enjoy.
While only we and we alone
can navigate the stony battlements
of the ground which lies beneath.
