New Chain Story?

Hey there everyone!

Pretty_lil_Stranger, Svenskaflicka, and myself are interested in starting a new chain story to keep ourselves in the survivor contest! Anyone else want in?

I'm sort of hoping that this thread can be a brainstorm for everyone who's interested in the progress of this story, or anyone interested in joining our little group! So, let's get started!

I liked your idea of writing one chapter each, but I'm still a bit confused. Are we like supposed to start with a main story about Mr X and Ms Y, and then each of us write a seperate story about the adventures of these two and whoever join them?

Or should we do like the kids game, where one of us start writing, and after, say, 10 lines, the second one takes over, and then the third, and so on?

Coz I've gathered that you don't like Interracial, which is my all time favorite, and I'm not to keen on Lesbian, which I know you like.

As soon as we have decided on the form of writing, I think coming up with ideas will be easy.

have you read my idea for a "choose your own adventure" story in the "story ideas" forum?

My idea was this, basically: A man at a party. Many of his friends and relatives along with people he doesn't know are there. He's a little tipsy and needs a ride back to his hotel. I thought that there could be many different adventures this man went on on his way back to his hotel.

Chain story idea #1: How about we have this guy, Mr X, at this party. Each author could write a chapter about his trip home. It could be a homoerotic adventure, an interracial, bdsm, nonconsent, mature, ANYTHING! Each person could choose their own thing and write about it? How about this?

Chain Story Submission Info

I would like to start a chain story. How do I do this?

A Chain Story is one in which several authors collaborate to create a story on a specific theme or topic. The first author writes the first chapter of the story according to the theme or topic. The next author reads the previous chapter and picks up where the first author left off, continuing the story as he or she sees fit. And so on, and so on...until the last chapter is completed.

Chain Stories are a special category on Literotica. To start one, you must do the following:

1) Post your idea to the Author's Hangout in the Bulletin Board and round up any interested authors who would like to participate. If you already have a group of writers who are interested, then continue on to step #2.

2) Once you know how many authors are interested, you must get a schedule together of who will do the first chapter, who will do the second, etc. Then, you must decide how much time will be between chapters to allow each author to write their piece. We suggest that you leave no less than 4 days, but no more than 8. A week is generally a good amount of time, but it's all up to you!

3) Email this information to Laurel so she's aware of the time frame and thus knows when to expect each chapter. If you've been planning this in the Author's Hangout and have posted the schedule there, you can simply email us a link to the thread containing the information.

4) The first person submits his or her chapter to us, selecting the category "Chain Stories". Any story which is submitted to "Chain Stories" without following these steps will be moved to whatever category the subject matter requires.

Oh, I get the idea now. OK... Well, the good thing about your idea, Chicklet, is that it gives everyone a lot of freedom to create their own story.

Poor mr X - he's gonna be all worn out! Maybe we should include a non-erotic version at the end, where he gets a nice massage and gets some well-deserved sleep?

well, i have to say, that's quite a list! not all exactly what i was thinking, and i'm sure we should leave some slack for creativity, but basically...yeah, something like that = ) of course I wouldn't make Mr. X write the how to or essays topics...i mean, what fun would that be for a chain story? but yeah...just, a bunch of things by different people written about the same character and what COULD have happened if he'd gone home.

No real suggestions for the name, but you need to choose a LAST name for the title -- "Mr Milligan's Ride Home" --or something similar.

I do have one question about Mr X: Are his adventures going to consist of things that just happen to him, opportunities he takes advantage of, or things he instigates?

Deciding that is going to shape the story line for most authors -- it may even shape whether they're interested in participating.

Mr. X's level of participation needs to be consistent for the chain to work as an integrated story instead of a group of disconnected scenarios.

The idea of a chain story is for each author to fit his part of the plot to a previously defined character -- like "Memoirs of a Lady" or to work his own characters around a pre-defined plot device -- like the "Talisman" story.

You need to define the limits pretty closely, or you get an incerasingly bizarre story as each author tried to be more outrageous than the last -- The "Literotica Renuion" and "Maltese Fuckin'" got pretty surrealistic at points becuse the premise wasn't well defined.
