Have you heard about this? There's a fascinating article in Entertainment Weekly (hard to believe, I know), about the now and future evil uses of CGI (computer generated imagery).

In the recent Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston TV concerts CGI was used to "airbrush" out sunken cheeks and skeletal looking collarbones.

In the upcoming "E.T." DVD Speilberg has used CGI to edit out the guns in the hands of the adults chasing the kids, and replaced them with walkie talkies.

And, get this, a new Bruce Lee film is in the works (with permission of the family). Lee will be totally CGI. In other words, they're not taking old footage of him and splicing it together -- they're totally recreating him from scratch.

And you thought Jar-Jar Binks was creepy.

Ooh ooh. That means we can all have a CGI Dixon!

Actually I would watch the Lee flick. But it wouldn't be the same. How can you take someone who was so totally awesome and then make a fake one? Kind of loses the effect..

I have heard that many photos and movie stills of Lee were digitized first and then the CGI images were made of him. The initial batch looked like the type of images you find on a PS2 game but the final product is supposed to be very real looking.

Maybe with this CGI they'll be able to make Carrot Top funny?

Nah. Probably not.
