Hi,

I joined literotica years ago to put down some of my stories down and published but I ended up not doing it. I can always find something else to do but my mind keeps coming back to the stories coming around my head. Has anyone got any good advice for me?

Start writing. It's the only way to do it.

It's that simple. Put words on the screen, lots of them. Erase the ones that aren't right and put other words. Try not to listen to the little voice in your head that says that what you're writing is shit.

When you're done, walk away for a day or two. Go back, open your story and review what you've written. Change some words until you like it better.

Repeat as needed.

Then, go the Writer's Resources page and look at some of the articles on grammar and word usage.

Go back to your story and see how you did. Revise as needed.

Once you're reasonably satisfied, go to the Editor's Forum and ask for someone to take a look at your story. Specify what kind of story it is (Incest/Taboo, Loving Wives, etc.), about how many words, and exactly what you want an editor to do--review spelling/grammar, character development, plot, etc.--and be both courteous and patient.

Take what makes sense from your editor's suggestions and revise your story again.

Then, screw up your courage and actually submit the damned thing.

While you're waiting for it to post, grow a thick skin--not everyone will like it.

Then, start writing something else. Try to do it better this time.

If you follow these steps, the absolute worst that can happen is that you will be able to say that you've finally have written and posted a story.

Good luck.
