I recently started writing erotica, and my first story has finally been posted. I write under the same name I use here, SlutwifeInTraining, and the new story is How I Became a Slutwife in Training in the Loving Wives category.

I would love feedback on the story. It's meant to be the first in a series. The second and third and currently in progress. They are written, but very rough and still needing a lot of work.

While feedback would be great, I also have a couple questions:

1) Regarding comments. It looks like I can delete comments in the story admin area. I was curious what the etiquette here is regarding this. While I'm fine with someone posting criticism (even unhelpful criticism...not everyone can be helpful I suppose), it seems stupid for people to tear down a story anonymously. Is it "acceptable" to delete negative comments from Anon if I leave them from anyone that posts non-Anon?

2) The story was approved less than 24 hours ago, and I already have 92 ratings (avg around 3.25, so not great) and over 10k views. Is that normal here, or is something off? The volume seemed high to me.

Welcome and good luck. :) There's no particular etiquette for comments, I don't think. You have the power to allow them or not, and to delete any you want, for whatever reason. It's up to you. Many (most?) authors allow comments, even negative ones, or nasty ones, to stay. Others don't mind negative responses, but will delete anything that is personally insulting, or whatever their standard is. And that's cool.

Can't say too much about views and votes, because it depends a lot on the category. Loving Wives, for example, is notorious for terrible, insulting comments, and low scores. So a low score there compared to other genres might actually be high for the category itself.

Also, a general rule is (sort of) that a small percentage of readers vote (as compared to views) and an even smaller percentage of those leave comments.

Best of luck. :)

There's no right or wrong with deleting comments. If they bother you, delete them. If they don't, I wouldn't worry.

One thing I can tell you for certain is that you're going to get lots of nasty comments in LW, especially in stories with a woman who gets away with cheating or cuckold themes. The individuals who stalk that category have more than a little trouble distinguishing fiction from reality and a nasty streak wider than the Grand Canyon.

So, nobody ( except other crazies ) is going to be turned away from your story by nasty comments in LW. Everybody knows the loonies are out in force there, and take everything they say with a grain of salt. Thus, no reason to delete them unless it's bothering you.

Lit is the most trafficked written erotica site on the internet by double or more its nearest competitor, and LW is a very popular category. You actually have a low turnout for that category because most of your story's "life" thusfar has been on Sunday, which always sucks. It's also Super Bowl Sunday, which equals double-suck.

Everybody's watching football - not reading naughty stories.

I just finished a quarterly track of my statistics, which can give you at least some idea of the kind of numbers the categories can draw ( especially in relation to each other )

You can also look through the category hubs and toplists to see how other authors are doing in your chosen category.

If I had a buck for every time I've been called a blockhead (or whatever ) I'd be rich. Certified retards have laughed at me.

But occasionally a critic recants, usually when they see results. The last words my old man said to me before he died was, I ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU WERE STUPID BUT YOU WERE RIGHT! He was not a deep thinker, I am. He had his methods and was clueless about the universe of methods thinking reveals.

LIT is the world and fulla self absorbed dolts who trust they have the right stuff to form opinions that matter, 99.99% percent do not.

So don't let a mob of dolts make or break your day.
