New Author Questions

I'm not entirely sure this is the right place to post these questions, so please forgive me if I've made a mistake!

I am working on a long story. Or maybe it's going to be a series of stories with the same main character. Anyway, I feel confident in my writing, except for the explicit sex. Would anyone be willing to read just the sex scene (about one page on Word) and help me out with it?

And the other area I don't feel that confident about is the length and the category. Would anyone be willing to read the whole thing (11 pages in Word) and let me know if I should submit it in one part or three, and into which category?

Or, even though I don't need help with commas, etc., are these questions for a volunteer editor and I should leave you nice folks alone?

Hi, Karenas. Welcome to the Authors' Hangout. Eleven HD Pages would
be about 5,000 to 6,000 words, not particularly long. I could look at it, but it sounds like a single story.

5000 - 6000 words I think you mean.

That's about 2-3 lit pages, which is about my sweet spot for a chapter of my
Multi-part story.

Length depends on how you're formatting the manuscript. Writing in Ariel 12 pt. and single-spaced I get about 600 words on a Word page. So figure a length between 6000 and 7000 words. When the story posts on Literotica it will format to 'Literotica pages' which go about 3700 words. So you've got a story that would post at something between 1-1/2 and 2 pages on the site. That's not especially long, and unless there's some good (literary) reason to do otherwise I'd make it one submission.

I'm thinking, then, that it should go in First Time?

And I wish I could be more confident with the sex scene, but maybe that will come with writing experience.

In Word, format your page with a 12 pt font, single spacing, left justified, and a 1 1/2 inch margin all around.

This is what comes up if you copy one page of your own story from Lit to Word.

About 2 of these pages make one Lit page.

Because of this post, I had three people offer to read my story. They were all so supportive that I was able to finish the story and get it submitted! Now I am waiting on pins and needles to hear when it is actually posted!
