I've posted on Literotica a few times in the past year or so but I'm generally very new to the writing world . I just wanted to know how the different writers on here came to start to write, what drove them to write erotica, and how they deal with the day to day stresses of being a writer. More than anything I'd like to just get a dialogue going and hopefully connect with other writers.

As the Black Sheep of this forum...may I suggest that you are going about things in the wrong way.

Writing is narcissistic, you do it alone, you ask for no advice, you take no suggestions, you do your best and run it up the flag pole and see what happens.

After you do all that and publish a story on Literotica or elsewhere, ignore the comments, they are but distractions.

Welcome to the lonely world of a writer and good luck.

I write because I have to write. I would write even if I never published my work.

I suspect that many of us have the same drive.

Writer's block, lack of inspiration, lack of application are irritating because the desire to write continues even though there are difficulties in the way.

I wanted incest stories about a girl named Lori, so I started writing it.

Then I wanted celebrities being molested by tentacle monsters, so I wrote them.

Now I want gangbang incest stories, with bondage, and strapon DP lesbianism, and tentacle monsters, so I am writing those.

That's just what it says in Hemingway's autobiography!

I discovered this site and read some stories, then thought 'I think I'll try writing erotica'...the rest is history.

I enjoy writing, it's fun. The day it becomes a chore, I'll stop. ;)

Write what you like, when you like, as often as you like...post it and await the votes and comments. Some comments will be constructive, some lauditory, others insulting...such is the way of things around here.

A tip: Do not post a story in the 'Loving Wives' cat unless you have the confidence of a used car salesman and the hide of an Armadillo.

The other way around works fine, too.

I like posting to LW, the comments are funny, yet disturbing and I get a kick out of all those 1-bombs that just happen to disappear raising the score above the 4.00 mark a them all. ;)

This is the best advice I've ever read. The "Just Do It" approach.

The man I'm quoting should be in one of those old Nike commercials.

In addition to helping the OP, this also helped me!

I wanna thank you all for the advice. I feel the same as i think all of you do, writing is something that you do first for yourself. But i have a question then, where does the audience come in. how much of what you write is for them and how much for yourself?

Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly.

Ninety-five percent of writing isnt worth a match to burn it. I believed I could do better.

Take a tip from Scouries and just write your audience in too.
