i just need some guidance and advice.
its alot to ask for I realize.
i'm not a good speller, and my grammar sucks.
i'm manly interested in "older men younger women" type writing and stories.

Hello Dawn and welcome to the EF. Someone will come along shortly I'm sure to offer you some help. If my plate wasn't so full already I'd offer myself but you'd have to wait an eternity and I know how anxious budding writers are to get their stories submitted and read.

Enjoy the ride, keep your hands inside at all time and don't feed the trolls. :rose:

It is a simple process:

Write your story, preferably using a Word Processing program to make the "final" version.

Read this thread and make any adjustments to fit.

Find a Volunteer Editor (easiest via this forum).

Have your story edited.

Re-adjust as necessary.

Submit it.

Then comes the really difficult part - WAIT PATIENTLY - rest assured you will get an answer eventually, but it may take ten days.

If it is rejected, look at the reason why and (in consultation with your VE if necessary) adjust yet again and re-submit.

WHEN (not if) it is posted, gaze on it in awe and wonder - you are now a published author(ess).

Disregard snoopy, he has gotten into the wine a bit early today and is feeling saucy.

I do beleive he was trying to be funny in that classic british dry wit manner, not terribly sure where the wit is but that's what they call it. ;)

I do hope you find an editor, or rather already did. Now from one writer to another, the biggest thing to remember, the comments you will receive will run in two lines, it was hot and I got excited, sometimes a bit detailed, or the story sucked.

The thing you gotta remember about the story sucked comments, generally they are from guys who feel bad for enjoying your story as much as they did so they are lashing out at you instead of themselves because it's not their fault they read it and enjoyed it so.

If your in need of a little help with your story or wanting help to flesh out a little nugget of an idea stroll on over to the Story Idea section, there are a goodly number of smart people in there, I wander through from time to time though I apparently have pretty bad thoughts since nobody ever does them.

I was completely serious and trying to answer the questions most often implied by the title "New author. Guidance Needed" and the origianl posting:

seems to say that it is the process of posting, rather than the content which is the basis of the query.

Your request is pretty vague. I doubt anyone here will write it for you - if that's what you're looking for, then you should post in the story ideas forum.

If you have a story written, then an editor can help, but it has to be written first.

Its rather hard to offer to help someone when they aren't clear on what they need help with.
