Here here! The more compost the better it is.
To be honest, I haven’t so far. But I’m working on a science fiction piece and I’m setting it in Sydney, two locations to be specific- The Rocks and ChatswoodJust out of curiosity, for the authors here, where have you written about in Australia in your story settings? I’ve done Darwin, Melbourne, the Pilbara, Hobart, and an unnamed NSW country town.
Hi Actingup - yes, quite a lot. Crown in Melbourne features plenty, plus Sydney and the Gold Coast a fair bit. My stories are based on factual events linked to my work and holidays so it was easy to use the places where they took place.Just out of curiosity, for the authors here, where have you written about in Australia in your story settings? The things prosecutors will do to get a conviction...12 men... now there's a scenario
Been there very hot fun…12 men... now there's a scenario
WelcomeG'day everyone, fellow Aussie here from the sunny state. Very much enjoying the place only new here seems like some very mischievous people on here!!
Setting a story in a particular place, is something I've avoided, for no better reason than few if any lit reader would know of it and figured it wasn't that relevant anyway. I'd prefer to let the reader use their imagination and memories to let them relate to the story as much as to the characters. Having said that my next story is set in California in the 80's. It seemed the 'place to be' for the plot. Let's be frank, many Americans confuse Australia and Austria. Nuff said.Just out of curiosity, for the authors here, where have you written about in Australia in your story settings? Hello to youG'day everyone, fellow Aussie here from the sunny state. Very much enjoying the place only new here seems like some very mischievous people on here!!
It was about 1 degree here when I went for a run this morning.Happy hump day y'all hope everyone has a great day, beautiful weather here today. Bit fresh for a nudey beach walk but would be wonderful
Best time of year for Casuarina free beach in Darwin! No stingers, minimal crocs, more fellow travelers of both sexesHappy hump day y'all hope everyone has a great day, beautiful weather here today. Bit fresh for a nudey beach walk but would be wonderful
Darwin is on the bucket list! Just haven't had the chance to get there yetBest time of year for Casuarina free beach in Darwin! No stingers, minimal crocs, more fellow travelers of both sexes
'Minimal crocs'.....do you work for the NT tourist board? That's a bit like saying 'welcome to our rollercoaster rides!' Nearly completely fatality free!!!Best time of year for Casuarina free beach in Darwin! No stingers, minimal crocs, more fellow travelers of both sexes
I really enjoyed it when they tried to rebrand the Wet Season as the 'Green Season' rather than the 'Fucking Hot and Horrible Season'. It's green alright, but that includes the rapidly growing mould.'Minimal crocs'.....do you work for the NT tourist board? That's a bit like saying 'welcome to our rollercoaster rides!' So, apart from the stinging jellyfish and the crocs' it's errr....just fine! I'll continue to enjoy the delightful Melbourne bayside beach at Aspendale. Just the drivers to look out for!I really enjoyed it when they tried to rebrand the Wet Season as the 'Green Season' rather than the 'Fucking Hot and Horrible Season'. (actually I love the Wet - it's just not suitable for tourists!)
And no, the beaches are not ever certain to be free of crocs. Just mostly free of crocs. And it's the box jellyfish in the Wet that are the real issue.
