Otherwise known as the wrath of the screaming shits.
Yesterday one of my patients decided they liked me enough to share their traditional lunch with me. Pakistani Curry. The way they shared this was to invite me to the patients room for lunch which I completely enjoyed. (Yes it was served in the traditional manner.)
When I stumbled belching from the room they gave me a nice large bowl to take home. Yum. I marked this bowl with my name and put it in the fridge.
A short while later I walked into the break room to find one of the new hires chowing down on my evening snack. When I confronted them with this they just shrugged and told me anything in the fridge was fair game and I should expect this from now on. I just smiled into her sweating face and told her to go ahread and finish her meal. I was grinning as I left the room and grinning even more as I cleaned up the mess she left after her "meal".
This morning I greeted her as she arrived at work looking a little discomfited. She was holding her belly a bit as she moved around. After she left the Nursing Station to go to her assignment I mentioned what she had done to the other Nurses. They grinned and accepted my proposal as to what needed to be done. SHortly after all but one of the staff restrooms were marked as being out of order. The one still in use was right next to the Nurses Station.
Shortly after the new hire was holding her belly even more and the rest of the staff were avoiding her because of the foul odor she was emitting. I knew what was coming and grinned evily. Before long she was looking for a rest room and became more and more frantic as she realised all but the one were out of service and the one in service was being used. Finally she was allowe in.
That first visit was quiet but odious. The second was the same but she was walking a bit funny. The third visit as well as the rest of her visits were much less quiet. In fact they were quite melodious as she sang to the accompaniement of the pain being inflicted on her rather ample keester. All of us knew what was happening and I was chuckling as I went back to work.
Somehow I don't think this new hire will either remain with us long or take my food again.
