John, Katie's Husband
John was grinning from ear to ear. There was no point in denying it, even if he would. His wife was a beauty, a dazzling beauty. He reached up the fasten the tie around his collar and ensured it made a straight line with his belt and fly.
"Katie, darling," he said, preparing to pay a compliment he never had before. "You look good enough to eat. And... I guess I should know about that now, eh?"
He looked down at the floor as he laughed at making a joke he never would have dared before.
"Ok," he said, as if deciding on where they should go for dinner. "How about that new seafood restaurant down by the waterfront. I've been thinking about going there for a while, and tonight would be as good as any."
Better than most, he reflected inwardly.
