Always a good choice. To you as well, Tex.

Micro, I'm pretty sure anything involving Pon Farr has a happy ending... :D

 I've always wondered though; Vulcans and Romulans are both supposed to have descended from the same humanoid species some time after they achieved space flight... Two different factions split off and went their separate ways. How'd they manage to evolve such completely different reproductive habits? To Pon Farr, or not to Pon Farr?

Plus, copper based blood? Copper doesn't bond with oxygen nearly as well, and it seems an odd bit given the general superior design both the Romulans and Vulcans enjoy over that of the standard Terran.

Maybe they're only superior in some ways (i.e. Short-term physical strength). The humans may very well enjoy far superior endurance in long-term exertion compared to the stronger pointy-eared aliens, due to their better blood oxygenation.

Long term endurance, to the best of my knowledge, is never addressed, but it has been mentioned in episodes that Vulcans are stronger, faster, and good bit smarter than humans. Kinda why it seems weird to have one little weakness, I suppose.

Meh. Shrug.

How's everyone doing tonight?

so I think I might have to turn in my nerd card as I had to wikipedia Pon farr....

I'm doing well. Spent most of the day cleaning and organizing but spent some quality time with one of my besties tonight. now its laundry time.

Ok have a question for everyone. My touchpad seems stupid sensitive. I start typing an answer and the mouse just starts moving to different areas, highlighting different parts of the pages, etc. Is there a way to tone down the touchpad so it doesn't make me go all office space on this laptop!

If you're not a trekkie, there's no real reason you would have encountered the words. Keep the card.

What OS are you running and on what model of laptop?

Eh, makes more sense for them to have at least one weakness. There is a word used to describe a character who is superior in every way with no weaknesses:

BORING! :D

That said, the humans seem to show far more independent initiative than the Vulcans do, much more aggressive. Probably why they ended up leading the Federation.

Oh, yeah, we're definitely more aggressive. More creative and adaptable too.

I'd argue the Vulcans are boring, regardless of of physical ability.

Unsure about Vista, but try control panel - hardware - mouse - device settings - then look for a sensitivity option.

nope.. don't have anything like that. looked through everything dealing with the mouse and there is no sensitivity option.

Generally, an overly sensitive touchpad on a woman is a good thing, but maybe not so much on her laptop. :D

Did you get it sorted out with the help of the all powerful Google?

I generally hate touchpads. I always disable the "tap to click" feature which helps with some of the issues mentioned, though that usually isn't enough and I end up going and buying a cheap logitech wireless mouse. Even Best Buy carries decent wireless mice for about $12. Worth the investment.

I'd throw out suggestions for you, but I'm one of those useless Linux guys...

ughh.. linux. LOL

Alright my friends, bed is calling my name. Have a good night and don't do anything I wouldn't do(don't worry.. its a short list)

So, on a bit of a pervy note, I finally decided to download some of these Star Trek porn parodies. One of them they even had Star Trek costumes and a model of the Enterprise from Next Generation. Character names and everything. How do these folks not get sued?

Parody laws get around a great many copyright issues.

So yeah, skipped my way through that... it was pretty bad. Although it was definitely different to see a space battle in a porn flick. Also, Ro Lauren's nose ridges were obviously drawn on, but it worked pretty well from the right camera angle.

Huh. What's it called? Might have to give it a download myself.

It is called, quite creatively, I might add: "Star Trek: The Next Generation - A XXX Parody"

It kind of suffers from only being an hour long. They had some pretty good looking female talent, but they really only had time to run scenes for each girl once, and for some odd reason, they brought in the Enterprise's engine designer so LaForge could have a girlfriend, which basically took a scene they could have used with someone else. That, and, well, the writing is pretty bad, but you kinda had to be prepared for that in a film like this.

sounds interesting....

Hope everyone has a great day. I'm off to KC to go shopping and hang out with friends.:kiss::kiss::kiss: to all of you.

I remember seeing a porn parody of TNG years ago. The one thing I reneged was that at one point the guy playing Picard grows hair before banging some alien. He goes "I have hair on my head. And my ass...where no man has gone before!".

Good times :p
