They have that? Ok scratch that.. bad question. Of course they have that.

Nerd tip of the day. Riding motorcycles without rear brakes = bad. Ah, the joys of owning an older bike. (Rear brakes locked open on me for some reason....yay..)

I am not sure that those thing make some a nerd. I think is more who you are than what you do. Lol. I am kidding if you like Dr. Who you could very well be a nerd. What kind of games do you play? Thats the biggie right there. If you game you are a nerd.

ah, then I am only a half-life nerd, since I don't gameplay except with words. my inner nerd never learned to express itself via gaming.

One does not need to qualify for nerdhood. One simply need only believe in our cause and worship the Ori... Er... Empress.

Accept yourself as a nerd, and we shall accept you in kind.

sigh

I'm afraid I may dilute your nerdish gene-pool.

back to Byron, Neruda and perving on the Torchwood dudes.

*Warning! Warning! Warning!*

Have fun with the browncoats, but the engine for that game is terrible.
Everything that is bad and evil about the d6 and d10 systems, but half d20. Bad mix.

Well the hot geek boy's brother is kind of a master of RPGs and apparent had come up with some modifications we're gonna use.

You might check out Once Upon a Time. I played it with my daughter when she was five. Most of the cards have pictures, so she does not have to read. We also played it 'open', meaning everyone shows their cards so I could help her out sometimes when she would get stuck.

We also just discovered There's a Moose In the House. No reading required. This one is pretty simplistic and will get boring after a while. My daughter loves telling me there is a moose butt in my kitchen. :D

I like Moose in the house that one cracks us up.

I had no idea that there was a table top Serenity RPG. I will really have to look at that. I hope that it isn't as bad as you say.

If the mods are good and they work pass them on. I think an effective Serenity RPG would be awesome.

Then there may yet be hope.

The Black's a harsh mistress, and it can kill you, make no mistake, and probably will, but she’s the only place where you can live your life your own fething way.

See you next time, Space Cowgirl.

Cortex is teh suck

I have to agree. The system (Cortex) felt like it was just slapped together. It was also used for Battlestar Galactica.

I am also a bit of a game system elitist, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I think there are a lot of generic and not so generic systems out that would be better suited for a Serenity campaign.

Honestly, if you're focusing on the RP, no system offers flexibility like D20 Future.

Welcome back, Empress.

I would disagree. Hero System is the most flexible system I have come across. However, there is a bit of a learning curve that comes with that flexibility.

Not familiar with that engine.

A friend and I are working on a completely new system. Still a bit on the rules heavy side, but we have character customization to a fething letter. Our initial test was making a mock character for every X Men character we could get our hands on. Worked too. We're proud of that.

Science fiction is an existential metaphor that allows us to tell stories of the human condition. Isaac Asimov once said; individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction, its essence has become crucial to our salvation if we are to be saved at all.

does anyone remember calc based physics.... i am trying to help my friend with her hw and i cant figure out where i am going wrong on this prob to help her... the computer says i am wrong so idk... hit me up in my box if u remember any calc based physics

Years ago we devised a system using percentile dice for to hit numbers. All based on percentages. Damage was naturally done in regular d4,6,8, etc. Armor was based not on avoidance, but rather on damage it soaked up. It was a simple straight forward system. There were no classes, only skills and abilities and stats. All stats added say bonuses to movement, initive, etc. Lack of stats didnt provide any bonus nor penalty. It was all modern, so no magic system.

Sounds an aweful lot like the old Runequest system to me:). Add a hit location and HP per location system and you're in like flynn.

I would disagree once more. Tri stat BESM (big eyes small mouth) offers the most flexibility I've ever seen in any system ever. Of course this may be because everything is point based, in a pure buy for points system, and it only needs 2d6 for anything.

Just saying.

Though on the other hand, if we're talking about horrid systems. Who remembers the Epic marvel system, which was based on cards? I cannot think of a more confusing method of playing a game. And I played later Era Arms Race Rifts.

I believe you're mistaking simplicity with flexibility, but I'm prestigious.
The GM wouldn't let me play a Magical Girl Mech Pilot. Hated BESM ever since.

That was part of revision 2 of the system. We decided to complicate it a tad... more realism and all that stuff.

Its like spell jammer for me. And I quote the DM "You can be ANY race, monster, class, you want." *Flips through monster manual* Nymph... *DM checks MM* Ummm.... *I reply* "Yes... Nymph with a robe and thats it... no need for a weapon. Now everyone roll vs blindness. After that im disrobing so roll vs death or go blind regardless."

Needless to say it didnt go well...

So you purposely tried to wreck the GM's game?

Not purposely... The setting is we were a group of pirates... Did not go well at all for the rest of the crew. Easy campaign for me. "Hey, we're gonna raid this ship... clear teh bridge." walk out, flip on the video intercom and pull the robe off. The rest of the crew boards and cleans up the leftovers. Voila. As for noncombat play.. not an amazing pick for a character. You'd blind a good 80% of a town just wandering about.

See, that sort of stuff is why monster campaigns get weird.

If they don't break the mechanics, it all ends in furry sex.

Though, I did run a Illithid cleric of the Xammux once. Good times.
