If I contributed to this in any way, I am truly sorry. I understand how she felt - when I recently "rediscovered" the good ol' NP board, despite the fact that I never felt like one of the "regulars," it felt like a homecoming of sorts. There are very few people in my day-to-day existence with whom I can banter about the subjects that regularly come up here, especially attractive females, and that makes this piece of teh intrawebs special.

It's less traditional. Kinda super-rabies scenario.
Viral, wound transmission, extremely fast infection rate, standard human running/strength, but not undead, so standard human killing stuff works.

Infection of Rage, infection takes in 12-28 seconds after blood or saliva enters your body through cut, bite, permeable membrane what have you.
Rage effect over ride all other natural and basic instincts, food, water, shelter, waste all become meaningless in the face of pure rage against humanity. Oddly this does only apply to humanity as animals don't seem to carry or be subjects of attack even though laboratory chimps were the first to have the infection in them. At least according to the established rules of the movies.
Expiration date seems to be starvation but it is an extremely hardy contagion.

Living in the middle of farm country makes it an easy choice. Plenty of supplies to live off, plenty of heavy farm implements to mow down hordes with, everyone is heavily armed, most have their own gas, generators, munitions and long term foodstuffs stocked.
