ReiRei, have you seen Big O? While it does predominantly feature giant robots (which routinely trash the city while fighting each other, much to the continued chagrin of the overworked police department), the plot itself isn't overly centered around them.

It's basically an awesome anime version of Batman.

We're being taken over by Canadians!!!

Beware! They will be nice to you and take you to Timmy's for a damn fine cup of coffee!

I'm not a stereotypical Canadian.. I don't drink coffee, and I'm definitely not nice. Sorry :p

Ack! Canadian spies!

Alarm! Alarm! Alarm!

On an unrelated note, anyone else excited to see this empire grow to 20,000 replies?

Txxy.. I like you, I really do. As I like pretty much everyone on here.. but really.

NO MECHA!

Rei Rei is not a member of the pro-mecha Otaku Nerd Society -_-"

*Goes to sleep* I'm grouchy again -_-"

Hai,

Thought everyone knew that :D

*Not the sharpest tool in the shed*

Actually.. come to think of it. I'm probably the least nerdy person here.. *thinks hard*

Damn.. I think I am. *looks at Nerd Kitty badge* Is this why I am the nerd kitty? Is this why.. I usually just chill on Clerky's head and occasionally know what's going on? Is this why.. *gulps*

v.v ah man. I suck!

Thank-you =^.^=

As always, thank you for staying at the Cleric Top hotel.

There is no hierarchy here; even our Empress is no better than the rest of us. How can one be nerdier than another? It's impossible. We all have our spheres of expertise, and it's wonderful when we overlap, but it is our individuality that defines us! In this Empire, we each serve in our own capacity, to the best of our abilities.

You keep doing that Rei thing you do, and you'll always have a place here.

And that goes for the rest of you all too!
Be yourself! Speak freely!

That is all.

I love the Big Bang Theory! Best show ever on CBS. Just wish CBS would get their head out of their asses and put the full episodes online.

Watch what you like
thats the idea
I was stating what I enjoyed
Not everyone watches Big Bang Theory with the verve I do

Just figured I'd throw that one out there, since it's mostly not about the mecha. The mecha just happens to be there. If anyone needs me, I'll be over here quietly shining my shoes and watching BSG.

Which happens to involve robots, but typically of a reasonable size.

Contested. NCIS is my personal favorite.

I tried watching the first disc last night. Got completely turned off at the 4th episode called "The Immortals." I didn't like how they stereotypically assumed that nerds in the Navy = Crazy, online-obsessed people who can't tell reality from role-play.

However, I do like Abby. She's kewl :D

*hugs Spexxy and Snakey* Yay!!!! <3

Thank-you for the reccomendation Txxy. Once I'm done watching Claymore, Bleach, Story of Saiunkoku, Negima, Gantz and Code Geass with Chronie (He needs to catch up lol), I might cave; make you all happy and watch 1 mecha show. Fair?

Well, Kitten, I am sorry to disagree with you. It wasn't about nerds in the Navy, but about a person who lost himself in his RPG.

I had a fellow soldier I served with back in the Army. He started out completely normal, but was an avid comic book reader. With the money he was making, he mostly bought comic books until he started to have problems. He ended up in our base's psycho ward believing he was Punisher or he was Venom.

He was a normal guy like me. Sometimes, being in certain situations can make someone lose touch. It wasn't a stereotype about nerds, but a possible look into what could happen.

Fair enough. I just.. I dunno. It irked me and I didn't agree with the message it was trying to imply.

I give the show 6.5 out of 10. Okay- but lacking something.

I am truly addicted - it's now official.

I began playing Perfect World International some months ago. I have several characters going, but my main is a level 62 cleric (Winged Elf race, Magic, Healer).

Anyway, I thought that I was spending far too much time in game, and so I decided that would not play for a few weeks, then go back and only allow myself short blocks of time in game.

Well, it worked - sort of.

I went in last night and played for two hours, then logged out. A half hour later, I logged back in, and played for about an hour and a half. Logged out, waited a while, then went in and played for another two hours, logged out, waited, logged back in, and played about an hour - I just logged out a few minutes ago.

I think part of the attraction for me is that it's almost like WoW, except that it's totally free to play, and if you play correctly, you can make enough game money to really supply yourself with all the bells and whistles.

I hate how addictive this crap is.....

On season one I have to say I kind of agree with you Reirei:). It took the show a season or so to gel.

On the exact episode I agree with you. Hubby told me after I went off on it that not all military geeks and nerds are that bad, but he personally has seen two of the really bad ones get into a rivalry, and they were as bad as the one's on the show.
