Wha?

I'm just offering the only advice available.
Life's harsh, and we all do what we have to do to keep moving.

Indeed it is, though we grow stronger for the adversities. At least that is what we all tell ourselves to justify the crap times. In truth I don't think sheer exposure to adversity can immunize us against it further. It just helps us learn to cope.

I hope I figure in the respect somewhere, as I do take it...much like sex. Meow!

And congrats to Mr New GF in BDU's! Outstanding Soldier!

Meow indeed. :D

Rei; I do apologize if it came off as callous, but too many people are willing to just pat heads, give hugs, and then pretend that makes everything better. The only way life gets better is if you get your hands dirty and squeeze what you want out of life.

One thing someone told me when I was in Basic Training: Steel is forged in fire. Maybe that's relevant to your hardships, maybe it would just look cool on a sampler.

And Squirts: Soldiers are in the Army. I'm an Airman. *walks off in a huff* :D

The difference is sometimes people just need to vent, exhale, let off some steam, and hear everything is going to be okay. I know it tends to be in the male nature to either offer advice on how to fix something, but sometimes, we know we can figure things out on our own eventually, we just want to feel like we're not alone.

You assume I refer to the US Army....no no no.

I refer to my Imperial Army.

I can call you what I wish.

However out of respect for the relationship I will not call you into my bedchambers for my own deviant purposes.

Thanks Vessy : )

Clerky- I understand where you're coming from, I really do. But I just really wanted to hear from anyone that things will generally look up, that I'll be okay, and yes. I am in desperate need of a hug!!

I consider you as a friend, and that's what I need right now. I need my friends! I don't want to hear that I need to suck it up. What do you honestly think I have been doing?? I want to so badly break down and have a big ol' cry, but I cannot. Why? Because I have to put on a brave face and act like nothing's bothering me!

I accept your apology, but please note that I am a tad over-sensitive and to hear what you said to me wasn't exactly what I wanted to hear at this point. *hands an ice pack* I'm sorry too v.v

I might skip out of the nerd thread for a little bit, hopefully grab my life by the reins again :/ *waves out* Don't miss me too much.. heh.

The truth of things indeed, something I learned in Linguistic Anthropology on how women and men differ in communication.

Women need to have their emotions responded to, otherwise men seem callous and uncaring. It's simply a fact of human inter-sex communication.

BTW Tex, congrats on the GF.

Sorry to hear about the shit happening, Cleric.

Also, that deviant purposes bit... Um, I'll take two tours, ma'am.

Rei, If a day goes by slap-free, I haven't done my job. :D
Of course, you're my friend, and I do care for you, but... I'm still a horrific monster.
Things will turn out for the best. Ride it out.

Ves and Rhyst, as always, very wise.
And full of truth.

Ohhhh I like it! BSG references will get you everywhere. Imperious Leader after all is so appropriate.

Two tours? Excellent! When can you start?

Just as soon as I can heal this razor burn... Shaved in a hurry today. Bad move.
*Shrug* I prefer using my tongue anyway.

BSG can get you pretty far, but sometimes in a very negative direction.
Telling the freebirth doorman at a trendy club to frak off got me pretty far.

Oddly, he was more offended by being called a freebirth than the fraking bit.

BSG would get you far here to.

Humorous aside...in the original BSG "Feldercarb" was another curse word, equating to excrement.

In the remake it was... a brand of toothpaste.

Shame unto me and my House, but I've only seen bits and pieces of the new BSG. Timing issues.

I personally love alternate/made-up/foreign curses. Adds a different flavor to the old standbys.

Feth, shee niou, stravheg freebirth, frak, scheisse mit doch, kas nara dach, and plenty of others have leaked into the nerd vernacular.

I agree, it was really cool. Plus it had a preview for Transformer Revenge of the Fallen! :D

Also, I too now have a new gf. :D

Wow, that new Star Trek promotion is great huh? Come see the movie, get a new girlfriend!

Of course, they don't accept trade-ins, so if you're an "early adopter" of girlfriends, you're out of luck.

BTW, I can haz Orion Starfleet Cadet Poster pleez?

Ah the sweet scent of spring.

Flowers bloom, bird sing delicate songs and nerds pair off in an attempt to procreate or at least practice for eventual procreation.

I'm a big fan of the practicing myself.

*pulls on a pith helmet and safari jacket to go and hunt the illusive male nerd in this new habitat.*
