Died last night.

I can't even get to the windows log in, just a blue screen error; 'unmountable boot volume'.
Safe mode, normal mode, and even 'restore last good settings' all fail.

But, before she left me and moved on, we had one last night of Star Craft.
I... I think that's how she wanted to go.

My techie friend is going to take a look at it later today, but I think the hard drive is shot.

Yes, but what specifically appeals you to black & white photography over any other kinds? And are there any specific themes you prefer or enjoy more?

I mean, I've only really enjoyed B&W when it portraits, or the occassional abstract. Nature pics in B&W just don't do it for me, no matter how good the lighting mastery is..

Ahh, sorry, I should have been more specific. I love really high contract pictures. I mostly take landscapes, still life type stuff, and my filter never dips below a 3. Just eh mixture of light and shadow, that sort of thing. I worked with some actual high contract film a long time ago which was also great fun. And infared film still holds a very special place in my heart, although it's been a while since I've worked with it either (maybe I should). Also, I have on occasion been known to hand color a few of my prints as well. The most recent series I took were from the graveyard down the block from me, lots of older headstones, statues, etc.

I have a digital camera, but I use that mostly for portraiture and candids with friends/family. I guess when I think of my artwork, I just tend to think of black & white. I could show you a couple of my older prints if you like (I haven't gotten anything new scanned).
