$9? What do you do? Who do you answer phones for?

People with jobs that deal exclusively with phones (ie: you don't also pick up the boss's dry cleaning or sort mail or what not) tend to get paid fairly well for it, because the jobs suck and have a high turnover rate. I had the opportunity to get paid $15 an hour as a telemarketer when I was in college, but my dad talked me out of it.

Re: Video Games Discussion: Last weekend I managed to coerce someone into helping me get the Orange Box on steam. Ostensibly for the TF2 beta. I play a couple rounds on my own to learn the classes, and have been utterly absorbed by the Peggle demo that came with it. Damn its addictingness that has enthralled CT and I.

In recent cleric news, I now answer phones for a living.
$9 an hour... It ain't bad.

Plus, each of the chairs we use cost about $360.
All leather, ergonomically designed, and generally the most comfortable thing you can sit on.

honestly, yesterday I had a really bad day. I quit my 2nd job, and worse- my cell phone got ran over by a car. So the LCD screen was busted.
anyway, the phone still worked, so I called Bell to see what I can do about getting a new phone. So, turns out they tell me my phone isn't eligable for a new phone- so basically I'm fucked. So I go to Bell world by my old place, and turns out that well...it'll cost me $260.00 to get a new phone ( I have a Sanyo Kitana), so I'm freaking. Also, what's worse is that I originally put down a 200.00 deposit that I was supose to get- and well turns out that now i'm not eligable for!!!

UGH- fuckers.
So basically I had to shell out $260- for my phone, and I lost 200.00!!!! Fucking cunts!

FWIW, you are essentially correct, though I'd have to label 'stranger' as less philosophy, and more 'sociology'. YMMV, of course, but Heinlein is one of my all time favorite authors, and 'Stranger' one of my favorite books ever (in fact, I just picked it up to read it again earlier in the week).

Just had one idiot DEMAND a new computer because he had a bunch of KOT-TAM noob issues and someone said "We'll replace the motherboard and wireless card." Even though it was likely software. Again.

I really... really... really need a vacation. My only hope is that tomorrow will be relaxing enough, and I will finally get my favorite book, Coyote Kings of the Space-Age Bachelor Pad, back, so I can re-read it and try and put the protagonists 15 years in the future when my own story takes place.
