<shakes his head>

There are only two good things in Houston.

A) NASA (hint)

B) The battleship Texas

Whats so bad about Houston

The Houstonites? :D

I used to live in College Station, about an hour north of Houston. From what I understand, rent is fairly affordable there (college town), though I don't know what sort of employment there is in the town (at various times, I worked as an office assistant on campus, wrote for two newspapers, delivered hot wings, and sold bodily fluids for cash).

One HUGE thing in favor of Houston: Asiantown on Bellaire. It's like... an entire asian business district that popped out of a formerlly vacant area off of Beltway 8. Lai Lai's Dumpling House is soooooooooooooooooooooo good. *misses good Chinese food* Also, it's close to Galveston, which is a neat city to visit (not to mention being home to the deadliest hurricane in US history).

On an unrelated note, I just cooked spaghetti and meatballs tonight. My meatballs are definitely getting better with practice. Also, I befriended an exotic dancer, but that's unrelated to the meatballs.

No more than any other big city

Well, they did get the massive influx of refugees from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina (10,000 people with little other than the clothes on their back), and that has apparantly caused problems in the city, including an increase in crime (though I don't know if it was much of an increase as far as Houston goes, or if they have gotten things back to normal or what).

I'd also make a point to check Houston's unemployment levels, I wouldn't be suprised if there are fewer jobs now than there used to be due to all the people who got sent there and decided to stay.

Oh, and one more note: Texans do NOT have "Southern Accents". We have Texas Drawls. Totally different. :cool:

I thought the joke was obvious....man...I am just too into trivial movie connections.

Well, not that trival..it was on every friggin ad ever

Does the fact that I've read both his books and have an autographed copy of one show my adoration of the man?

I'd also like to add, the series Jack of All Trades is on my x-mas list. I couldn't believe it when I saw it at Best Buy.

This pleases me greatly! I have both books, and both signed. LOL Met him and his wife several times. The most wonderfully giving man but not without sarcasm. He will tlak as long as he's wanted but he's going to point out how stupid something are when he gets asked over and over and over.
