Nephilim...

Giant giants with giant genitals? Could have certain possibilities.

Or maybe they look normal with their clothes on, and ONLY their genitals are huge? The women all love them, the human men hate them and try to eliminate them...... lots of ways to go......Carney

What about they look like normal men or women because they have learned to blend in or evolution made it so. The difference is that some retain various forms of angelic appearances or powers or habbits. Like wings or healing power or sing song voices ect

They are beautiful and humans are strongly attracted to them. Maybe something like a girl is attracted to the boy but he doesn't want her to love him just because he is a nephilim. Or some Angels envy them or fall in love with them and want to create stronger beings.

Plus you could flip it and go with the scientific part. That they are actually aliens.

Don't know just tring to help...

Well... you might do well to remember that in the Hebraic tradition Angels can be terrifying and majestic. In fact the Seraphim are normally described as winged serpents made of fire and light.

That REALLY puts a new twist on the idea of the Nephilim no? But then the serpent was the original tempter...

I am kinda lost here, how did we go from giants to angels?

I mean I understand that giants are rather folk tales and not real rather like angels but they are different. Giants are just that, really big men, they are not gods or titans though giants are said to have fought the gods in some religions.

I beleive the romans said the giants helped the gods fight the titans and lock them away but were themselves betrayed and locked away because the gods feared the giants would become titans or something.

In actual terms, a giant is just a really tall guy, think Shaq or Yao Ming type, they are recent age giants, long ago a giant was a little over six foot, a thousand years ago, men were generally only about 5'6" and women were 5'2" on average. Any man standing at 6 or more were giants. Which is actually why the swiss were feared, they were strong because climbing up and down those mountains tends to make you strong, and they were tall. Which is not the point anyway sorry.

So I am curious, are you talking like a 7 foot guy taking a 5 foot woman or are you talking actual giant sizes, like 30 feet?

I understand your confusion, because I don't understand how giants were bought up in the first place.

The title of the first post is "Nephilim". In the bible, the nephilim were the offspring from a period in genesis when god's angels found human women too sexy to resist.

Why the first post is talking about giants, I have no idea. But that's why everyone else is talking about angels.

Not to be rude but don't anyone google anything anymore?

Anyway, I thought this might be intresting for those who like to read???

http://www.nwcreation.net/nephilim.html

They are more types of mixes like the Anakim, Emim and Rephiam but I won't talk about those.

Who would like to write an erotica story about the Nepilim please step up and take the plate. Because this is surely one story I wouldn't mind reading now!

My apologies. Until you bought this up, I wasn't aware of any additional biblical verses implying that the nephilim were giants/large in size.

I am so sorry I guess I sound like a snooty b*tch!

I kinda liked the whole Nephilim idea and I came off wrong or too passionate on a subject that got to me.

I am currently writing one thanks to this post. But man, with all my little knowledge, I am falling flat on my face about it.

The idea sounds sooo sexxxy, women that are so beautiful that Angel falls for them. Wow! talk about a compliment!

...Not to mention you get that whole erotic, Romeo-and-Juliette-esque forbidden love aspect. God doesn't want his angels getting it on with the humans (at least that was my impression).

Makes you wonder how an angel can keep a secret from an all-knowing God, doesn't it?

conceptually, i dig the nephilim, although i'll confess that as i think about possible stories, my brain keeps wanting to go to a very dan brown-type path. my only concern with not retaining the giant aspect is that conceptually, you're really talking about basically a "divine vampire" story: gorgeous outsider who can fit seamlessly into human society. and i thought vampires were overexposed back before anne rice found god.

really sophisticated giants might be interesting: we're accustomed to portrayals of giants as these barbaric brutes yelling "fee, fie, foe, fum". what if instead, the nephilim is talking about the differences between, i dunno, truffles harvested in france vs. italy?

the entire angel falls for mortal woman idea really has some great stuff going on, too. :>

I agree with mythtrav16, with 'how can an Angel hide his feelings or actions from God' and would God be jealous. That would be a question, I would be affraid to answer.

I know in the story of Inanna, I believe, that she was able to trick an Angel, who fell for her, to give her the name or word to descend into heaven. Because of that, we now, have our virgin constilation, because God found her worthy. Wow, a woman worthy to be placed amongst the stars in heaven. So, a woman was able to escape the allure of an Angel.

Anyway, I am sick and tired of vampires. I really hate them. They can go suck a blood bag. I was thinking, it would look, kind of odd if King Kong really tried to get his phallous into his maiden fair! (hehehe) I can see her drowning in his pre-cum...

But that Giant theory kinda got a hook to it. Cause they are Giants... Like if they do assimilate to our ways like the grounds keeper in Harry Potter, (yes, I did say Harry Potter), how would they be then??

Would they have strengths and what will be their weeknesses? How will they have sex with human women? Would they be well endouwed or just regular, like black coffee??

Can they still communicate with God and will their biological fathers ever look for them. I saw the movie, Nephilim. It was horrible, but still, enough to swallow. Still bitter, but managable.

I was trying to write a story, about them, but I don't know. My head is running wild with ideas... Can't seem to finish it or continue it.

P.S. there is even a British series based on these creatures called Hex. If any one wants to check it out. Lots of sex in there too!

Perhaps the sophistication in itself is the "giant" part about them? i.e., When the bible says the the Nepilim were giants, perhaps the word is supposed to be read the way Isaac Newton used it? "If I have accomplished great things, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants." The giants, of course, being all the great minds who preceeded him.

Perhaps the Nephilim weren't giants as we think of giants, but merely an ultra sophisticated society; e.g. the mythical Atlanteans.

I agree with mythtrav16, with 'how can an Angel hide his feelings or actions from God' and would God be jealous. That would be a question, I would be affraid to answer.
Perhaps it wasn't hidden from God. Perhaps it was his intention for the angels to breed with mortal women, but something else made him unhappy with the situation? Perhaps the crossbreeds didn't turn out the way he'd hoped they would?

Who's to say that the Nephilim do, in fact mate with human women. Seriously, is that part of the legend? That the Nephilim went on to have sex with human women, themselves? I've never seen any text that explicitly says they did this.

I would think, to add some balance to the story, that there could be another unnatural race in the mix, to serve as the Nephilim's companions. Perhaps a race of seductive, but scheming women, born from demonesses who seduced unsuspecting human men.

Hey! I just figured out a great reason to explain why God was so disapproving of the angels having sex with women! You've heard of the war in heaven, right? Well, say at the end of it all there was harmony once more because satan and the bad angels (demons) were all separated from the good angels by the barrier between heaven and hell. But God knew that if Angel blood was ever to cross paths with demon blood again, another catastrophic war would break out. That's why he could not allow Angels to have children in a plane of existence (i.e earth) that could potentially harbor the children of demons, too. Because any place where those two events occurred would become a battleground, with the natural inhabitants (i.e. humans) caught in the crossfire.

mythtrav quoth:

yeah, i think that interpretation could be quite interesting. :>

mythtrav queried:

i would say not.
genesis 6:4 quoth (NIV):
the nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of god went to the daughters of men and had children by them. they were the heroes of old, men of renown.
genesis 6:4 quoth (KJV):
there were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of god came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
genesis 6:4 quoth (CEV):
the children of the supernatural beings who had married these women became famous heroes and warriors. they were called nephilim and lived on the earth at that time and even later.
textually, i think it's ambiguous. however, assuming that the nephilim were themselves capable of bearing children, i think it's safely and reasonably inferred that they would possess the same drives as humans, no?

Wow silverwhisper,

I was just about to say the same thing. That they are half human and half angel, so they would have to have our weaknesses. Otherwise, how else would we get them to have sex in our stories?? *snickers*

But then again, there are other races, on earth, like the nephilim such as the Anakim, Emim and Rephiam. Plus, there are half demons, half human breeds like the cambion.

But I like theses ideas.... I was wondering, has anyone thought about writing about these great ideas.

There is alot of good ideas in this post. It would be a shame for them all to go to waste.

See now, that's something that puzzles me. Angels are theoretically mightier, more perfect beings than humans, right? So how is it that they are so easilly corrupted by our flaws, genetically speaking? To me, it would seem that if a being was truly perfect, it's seed would be able to overcome any transmissible flaws in its mate. Conversely, if a species is easilly corruptible at its reproductory phase, then that, IMHO, is a sign of great weakness (on the part of the angels, no the nephilim).

well, i think that "less flawed" does not necessarily make angels perfect. in a theological sense, i don't think that any entity in the christian worldview is perfect apart from god.

it's also debatable whether or not angels are more perfect/less flawed than humans. just a thought. :>
