neil young nyt bio

The guitar owned the night, but the secret to Young’s durability is his voice, a nasal-inflected borderline whine that was never a luxurious instrument, but remains intact.

Ahahahahaha

thanks bert.

I grew up in the small city about 20 miles from Omemee, I used to pump gas for his Dad all the time.

I like Neil, but truthfully his Father was a better sportswriter than Neil is a musician.

Always liked most of his stuff, but man...he looks like a dustbowl dirt farmer.

Harvest Moon and Like a Hurricane are wonderful songs.

He's only sucked his way to a 50 year career.

And there are so many great covers of Like A Hurricaine.

American Stars 'n Bars is one of my very favorite albums.

He's had lots of great tunes, and has earned his career. He's also had some painful, godawful tunes, and has earned his detractors.

Of course, that's all easy for me to say from here...

For a no-talent, 3 chord guitarist with the voice from hell who can't get along with anyone, he hasn't done half bad.

I love his music but hate his voice.

but I also hate Robert Plant's voice and think how much better zep would have been with Tom Jones singing lead.

his voice is like a paring knife: crosby, stills, nash and paring knife.

and he's just a little bit liberal...
