Hey all,

Just received my first negative feedback for a couple of my stories. They ranged from "cliched piece of s**t" to suggesting I might kill myself. One even suggested that I was posting a story that was illegal(even though I didn't post the story myself) and that they would send my computer info to local law enforcement which I also found humorous.

I am sure others have received this kind of feedback and I just thought maybe you could share your experiences. My stories are mostly reluctance and non consent (no violent rape) but I know that they would be considered rape in any definition of the law. If a woman says 'no', it's rape. I have to say I was a little worried at first, but realize I am anonymous on Lit, so I should have nothing to fear. Still, hearing from others would be great.

Thanks,

S2C

People can be so stupid.

Laurel wouldn't allow anything to be posted on Lit that is illegal - no worries there.

I've read several of your stories. They are quite typical of the non-consent posted on Lit. I enjoyed them, though I'm not into the forced impregnation thing (maybe because I've BEEN pregnant? lol)

Nice work - people can be clueless.

Here's a link to your stories for people to follow:

Don't let the negative feedback get you down. Everyone gets it from time to time

As for your story being illegal, I can't imagine how it could be illegal. As long as you are writing fiction using fictional characters, it can't be illegal in the USA. I can't speak for every other place in the world though. But fictional stories in the USA are not illegal, no matter the genre or topic.

yeah...I've gotten feedback that told me that they thought my character was a evil slut who they hoped got aids and died.

shrug. Some people just can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality.

Try to think of it this way...you pissed someone off to the point where they couldn't help but react. And if that doesn't really work for you...the delete button is a good feature of email.

Just arrange all of your good e-mails in a long row and look at them all. Then spot how many good ones you have compared to bad. Democracy's a wonderful thing :D.

Yes! Then sentence all the bad emails to death! (I suppose that's not precisely democracy as such, but like that guy Voltaire said, "An ideal form of government is democracy tempered with assassination.")

Also, remember that the contents of most negative emails are just anagrams for good emails. It may take some work to piece it all together, though.

Dear Sarah,
That was Emil Voltaire from Miami, right?

It just says "Voltaire" in my Handbook of Snide and Pithy Aphorisms.

Emil Voltaire is an anagram for "Earl Lie Vomit." Also "Lame Evil Trio."

I'm afraid I don't get anagrams. My responses are on the order of:

Oh?
So What?
That's nice.
Really.

I guess I'm anagramatically challenged.

How dare you? Those stories about me lying in vomit are complete tabloid fabrications and I'll sue anyone who says differently.

I told you those anagrams are a bunch of assholes, and this is precisely why I hate them so much. I wish they were all dead.

Really.

I look at negative feedback like this:

If these people are stupid enough to not appreciate my great story/storiess, then they are far too stupid for me to pay any attention to.:D

Thanks all!

Thanks for the words. I knew I'd feel better after hearing from you all.

By the way, haven't received too many more negatives. I don't mind constructive feedback so much, in fact it makes one a better writer. Still, I wasn't used to the personal attacks.

Luckily, there are a lot of others who like my stories so I will definitely keep writing.

Thanks again. This site is a great place for people like me to have their stories read and be part of a community that understands these kinds of stories.

Hope that asn't too sappy.

Hi late as usual

Don't let it get to you we've all had them, first story posters seem to get the standard go kill yourself or whatever from the same twisted fuckwit, ignore him, her, it.
Or do as I do and save them to disc for a good laugh later and as Earl said you can compare them with the vastly longer list of good feedback.

As sarah says though, watch out for the anagrams, they're vicious bastards, they creep up on you before you realise it, I had a nasty case of the anagrams last month, luckily they do pills for it now.

pops...........:) :)

Well I don't mind, but I'm very sappy myself. Then again, my posts weren't too helpful.

I'm glad the rest of them could help, though. :)

Anagrams

I remember these two anagrams from a satire show a few years back...

Margaret Thatcher - The Great Charm Rat.
Ronald Reagan - An Oral Danger.
