Needleplay

During a visit to the States almost three years ago, I had the pleasure of visiting a Dungeon with the people I visited. There I saw my hostess try needleplay, and it was such an intense experience for her, that she almost passed out from it.

So now I'm wondering if anybody here have partitipated in needleplay, and what your thoughts are about are (no matter if you've tried it or not)

Done it, love it. I'm a wussy needle bottom in that I can only take small gauges (25-22 ga.) but what I can take definitely gets me spaced out, high, and happy.

Trying needles as a bottom made me an avid needle Top, before I tried them they just made no sense to me intellectually.

The special quality that needleplay has, to me and to almost every other enthusiast who will pause to tell you what's so damn great about it, is that it releases the endorphins that other kinds of play do much more quickly, with much less effort, and with less actual pain and trauma to the subject's body.

Think of it as the direct mainline hookup to subspace or at least some really trippy bottom space.

I almost passed myself out self-piercing my upper arm as practise. It wasn't from pain or fear, it was literally from a chemical spike of endorphins. I know this is often common, and I suggest piercing even the most known needle sluts in a PRONE position for this reason, and I don't believe in using needles as a tie-off point without the weight being supported fully at the same level of tension, unless you're dealing with the kind of person who wants them ripped out or would not mind it.

I stuck some needles through some nipples today, for the first time without shaky hands.

Boys with little cat nipples make it much harder to do than it can be, that was the lesson of the day.

I wish I had the balls for it. I've had plenty of facial/genital piercings in my time in a non-sexual context but for some reason I can't bring myself to allow anyone near me with a needle in a sexual context. It makes me panic, and not in a pleasurable way--it makes me sick with fear, and I am not certain why, as when I've been pierced I've always found it profoundly pleasurable--the clean, solid burn of skin being pierced through in conjunction with the giddy dizziness that follows has always been incredibly arousing to me. Why I won't let a dominant man near me with needles, I am not certain.

I have, however, had a little experience as a top with needles. As I mentioned in another thread, my boyfriend and I have done some S&M experimentation, and concluded early on that he is more interested in sheer pain than anything else. So once I managed to get ahold of a fairly small needle (about 20 gauge, I think) and drove it through his nipples during sex, back before he had them professionally pierced. It aroused him beyond belief, and I was rather sorry that I didn't have the tolerance of pain and freedom from fear to enjoy it as much as he had. Hopefully one day I will become involved with a dom I trust to teach me to submit gracefully to needle-play.

Ooo what a nice post.

So you know that powerful high, that really intense endorphin rush. Needles are one of the few things I'll undergo happily, but I find that a non-sexual-non-D/s situation is best for me. Something calm, ritualistic, often with other women, not a lot of pressure to take or perform, just my skin saying yes...that's nice for me.

Through my nipple? Um, no. I'm still a wuss.

Play piercing is something we have been planning for awhile now, and hopefully will soon be actually trying it out.:)

One of those things that I find highly erotic... never done... but being teased and tormented by him was enough to leave me dripping and wanting....:D

No... not for me. Knives and needles are off limits with me.

Like Netzach said... I'm a wuss, I guess.

It's very interesting to read the replies to this thread, and to see that it's common for people to get high from it.

I haven't tried needleplay myself, and I don't have any piercings either. The closest I've been to it, is when I've had my tattoos done, which I also think gives me a bit of a high. It've been a bit more than two years since I got my last ink, and I will admit that I'm looking forward to getting a new one, which is in the design phase. I have pictures of my inks here http://tattoo.kennl.dk/

This is actually something that we just recently tried out. It was an amazing experience.
Being that it was a new thing for to Him more than I, the first place he did the needles was in the top of my thigh. I was able to watch this way and become more comfortable.
After watching him do just a few I knew I could completely trust him. He did it like he had done it a thousand times before.
After a few in my leg he created a pattern on the upper swell of my breast. The pain, the adrenaline, every part of it was absolutely wonderful.
It's something I'd been waiting for and it was well worth the wait. I look forward to us doing it again soon.

And another for the wuss line, here.. I think I could handle the pain, it's the fact that blood might come out that really squicks the heck out of me. Even if I didn't have blood issues, I think the nipples wouldn't fly for me..

honestly for most it does get a bit bloody. It's good to have some sterile gauze around and the alcohol to keep it even more sterile. Some people bleed more than others, I'm about medium on that.
It's interesting that you mention the nipples since that's where during our first session I stopped him. I was totally unsure about it. I actually had my nipples permanently pierced a few years ago and the piercings grew out, causing serious problems for my poor nipples, my concern was that it would cause the same thing to happen again.
I've been fairly reassured that with a small needle and temporary piercing there should be no issues with problems as it heals fairly quickly as there's no jewerly left in.
Suppose that makes the nipples pretty fair game for next time. Eek!

Though..... it was the nipple piercings a few years ago that gave me such an overwhelming head rush, sexual energy, adrenaline flow that first made me want to try play piercing. :D

Some friends locally invented a new category for you lot
calls you all "wussachists"
:p

Okay, how do you get started? How far do you put these needles in? How long are they left in? How many needles at a time are we talking about for beginners? Where is safest starting location (Zaudika's thighs)?

About the only thing I do know is the size of different gauges. I assume you get sterile ones from an internet store or something?

Thanks for any help! :)

vet supply, the needles used in vet applications are fine and sterile, IMX and according to those who taught me to pierce. Some people will only use human hypos and yes, those are online too.

I'm not comfortable doing a full how-to-pierce discussion online that I would advocate anyone follow...

So I would say don't do what I'm about to say without reading a lot more on the subject. If you're going to attempt this anyway, I'm going to share what I do know.

I am assuming one knows about safety and cleanliness, gloves are a must, always swab the areas to be pierced before and after with alcohol and some anti-bacterial agents won't kill anyone. Know if you have an iodine allergy before getting pierced, you never know what someone might break out to clean you up with TELL THEM and make sure they know the ingredients of what they are using....never try to re-cap your needles and spend the 5-15 bucks on a sharps disposal!

LEARN IN PERSON if at all possible.

To answer your specific questions:
I like to start in the ass or upper arm or thighs

Look for and avoid veins.

The needle I put in usually goes in shallow, about 1-3/16th inches in. If you are going to do tension play of any kind or lacing, I'd go deeper, about 1/4 down (this is a guesstimate, it's hard to tell really how far down into skin you are going, what I'd do is go look at some temp piercing pics...

oh hell, I'll show you what I mean...(attachment)

(lacing, hanging bells on fishing line or going through a pair of nylons in a nylon encasement as I did are all lapses of sterility...you must clean very well afterward and inform your sub they are taking on a risk of infection, as you are any time you are pierced..I've known no one to get a serious infection so long as the needle sites were well cleaned, but it could happen)

The counterintuitive thing about needles...

you want the bevel going this way / and NOT this way \

that lifts the skin so you aren't just digging futher and further into your person.

As for how many, I am very humble and patient with a piercing, you need a Japanese rope bondage attitude for it I feel, many play other ways. If a needle is not going through the skin, back out and toss it and do a new one some other spot. The body gives you clues.

I like to ask and gauge where my bottom is at. I give them as many as they ask for, usually... or as many as I have in my kit if they are just a huge slut.

This is clearly a case of listening to feedback but what are some basic parameters for time involved? Anywhere from five minutes to an hour?

I assume from Zaudika's description that normal people who aren't superheros should expect and accept some bloodshed from such a scene?

Netz, thanks for the information you have provided. i think it's invaluable to have information from those who've had experienced the act first hand.

One question. i noticed the needles in your picture were through the clothing then into the skin. Is it ok to pierce in this manner and are there any risks from the clothing fibers entering the skin? By risks, i mean reaction from the dye used on the clothing, minute pieces of fiber remaining in the wound, etc.

i have only ever been able to try needles as a bottom, would not make a good top at all.

After having had my nipples pierced, and getting off on it so much, i asked a female partner of mine to use needles. What i felt was so mind blowing that i almost passed out. The blood was not a problem for me, i just made sure that i rubbed it in well and licked it all up.

i agree that is is VERY important to use sterile equimpent and clean up well afterwards.

the places i have enjoyed needles most are in my breasts, labia and ankles.

For anybody who hasn't tried it, just make sure that you are with a trustworthy partner and go ahead and enjoy yourselves!

I'll repost, it gets hidden in there:

(lacing, hanging bells on fishing line or going through a pair of nylons in a nylon encasement as I did are all lapses of sterility...you must clean very well afterward and inform your sub they are taking on a risk of infection, as you are any time you are pierced..I've known no one to get a serious infection so long as the needle sites were well cleaned, but it could happen)

I've seen and done some of the nylon line stringings and such with bells...basically what you're asking is valid... it's not as sterile as a simple pierce. Even just having the strings near the sites of the needles is adding some risk.

The clothing in question here is panty hose, so the needle really does move through the web of fibers, not dragging fibers into the piercing like some other fabrics might, however I would not call this a heavy endorsement for everyone/anyone else. I happen to know that bottom well, I clean heavily and know that she will also maintain her cleaning later on, if I tell her to re-wash the sites later in the day. 100 percent avoidance of infection? No. Not even hospitals can promise that.

There's some blood, and there is more blood when swabbing the site with alcohol. The only really bloody ones I've ever done have been scrotal. Dicks and nuts bleed like mad, put down papers, I've not done labia, but I have a feeling it's the same story.

I always tear off 1-4 hours for this kind of scene. 1 hour is common with my girls who I've done a million times, newbies usually take 3 or so.

Hmm I have to admit that I think that looks kinda cool Kajira. And it's interesting to see that there isn't much blood at all, but it can of course have been dried off just before the picture was taken.
